This edit takes two (at best) mediocre prequel films and constructs one new narrative out of them in a way that creates a terrific film, in my opinion. The editing was seamless and the choices made brought out David's motivations and the overall themes much better than the two separate films did. Some other reviewers seemed confused by the time jumps, but I found that they were utilized quite well. I never found myself confused by anything, nor was any of it jarring. I didn't notice anything that would have required me to have seen the original films.

I loved how you used the conversation between Weyland and David in the piano room. I also loved that you had Vickers die before she could even get off the ship, completely avoiding the infamous "running in a straight line" bit altogether.

One piece of constructive criticism, though...While I thought the ending music choice was fine, if this were my edit, I would have the end song David listens to be a little more haunting...using "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver. As I said, this by no means detracts from the edit, but it would have shown that despite his actions, David still has complex feelings about Shaw.

I actually think this will replace both films for me. Great work!

BRILLIANT Fan Edit!!! For both Alien lovers and movigoers Paradise should be considered as a good movie. The way JobWillins assembles Prometheus and Covenant in one single piece is extraordinary. The selection of the footage material is carefully chosen resulting in a great cinema exercise. David centric story is indeed the strongest aspect of this edit. Splitting the intro conversation between him and Weyland (Beginning scene from Covenant) in different parts and inserting them along the movie, the editor shows us David´s personality and motivations in a way that the official movies failed to. I won´t extend myself describing all unnecessary and stupid humour scenes which are deleted alongside the plot inconsistencies with Alien universe.

Audio and Sound editing are top-notch. In this regard, it is not possible to imagine a better quality for a fan edit. The only remark I appreciate is the addition of some tracks which in my opinion doesn´t fit with the tone of the movie (i.e. a couple of Beatles songs). This soundtrack editing either you love it or hate it.

I enjoyed so much this fan edit and it completely replaces the original movies. I didn´t grade higher because of the original available material which in some cases makes impossible to fix it. The editor has nothing to do with it. Giving the source material, Paradise is a jewel in Alien universe and from now on I will revisit it with the first and second entries of the saga.

Congratulations to JobWillins who is certainly a remarkable fan editor!

P.S. Please, watch the mix Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman edit "Man of Tomorrow" absolutely a must.

This is the only way to watch Alien: Covenant.

I need to preface this review by mentioning that none of the drawbacks of this edit come from JobWillins himself. Everything has to do with the original material. I say this as someone who loved Prometheus, but hated Covenant. This edit brings in the best elements of Covenant (the scenes between David and Wayland) which makes Prometheus that much better. In retrospect, I believe it would be much more interesting to have a standalone edit of Prometheus with those scenes added in. Covenant seems like a completely odd and nonsensical sequel to Prometheus, and I truly believe that combining those two movies does more good for Covenant than it does for Prometheus.

However I must congratulate JobWillins' incredible editing skill. He has done the best job anyone could do when it comes to this project. The cuts between the timelines are seamless and seem very fitting every time. It's never jarring and they somehow feel right. However, Covenant remains the movie that it is and unfortunately no amount of editing will ever be able to save that mess. I left this edit feeling like I just wanted to go watch Prometheus instead, as that movie was pretty damn good.

It's worth a watch, if only just for JobWillins' incredible editing, and if for some odd reason you need to watch Alien: Covenant. If not, I would recommend you simply watch Prometheus again.

I agree with previous reviewers here; the editor started from 2 films that were mediocre and managed to grab the best parts of the 2, as well as the best character arch / best acting, David / Fassbender.

Regarding the frequent jumping between the 2 timelines, for me the editor has found a perfect balance between the need of text on screen to contextualize the jumps and the (many) times when it was not needed, because the start of the scenes had enough context.

Regarding all the mashups I’ve seen, this one is unusual because the more frequent thing to do is to reduce the amount of cutting between the timelines, in order to improve the flow and the narrative. This fanedit may be the one with the most jumps (between the original films) but also the one that’s edited the better to give narrative meaning to those jumps.

Well done!

The technical mastery of this edit is impressive, whether in terms of audio, video or narration processing. The idea to combine these two flawed movies is a very efficient way to get rid of their worst parts and focus on what works. The drawback is the pace that sometimes feels a little rushed (I had this feeling mainly in the first half). I guess it can be challenging for a newcomer to follow all the back and forth between timelines, but I only got slightly confused one time during the infection sequence.

I appreciated how cleverly the plots and themes intertwined, like the choice of the genocide punchline. Also, the alien in shower scene was really really cool. Like others, I wish the Wagner theme was kept in the final scene, but the mash-up of Beatles and David's monologue worked very well anyhow.
