I stopped watching The Walking Dead mid season 2. Just wasn't my thing, too much drama and just boring to me.
But man oh man, this tv-to-movie is so good that i wish there was a second one.

The first season of Walking Dead was absolutely great but the second season suffered from slow pacing and soap opera-ish like dialogue and situations. This edit attempts to fix those issues and condense everything down into a single three hour epic version.

Overall this edit was a success, the editing was very nicely handled, there were some issues though. Since there was a large amount of material cut, things that were missing were much more noticeable when compared to other fan edits. Characters would just randomly disappear with no explanation, like all the characters who died in the CDC.

In addition, some people's behavior and motivations felt lacking. Shane's transformation felt much more gradual in the show because they had more time to flesh out his character but in this it seems like he goes from being Rick's best friend to wanting to kill him very quickly. The Sophia tragedy also felt more impactful in the show, again because they had more time to develop the anticipation.

My biggest complaint is near the end of the edit, Shane hit's his head against a tree and says that someone took his gun, someone that the whole group was looking for. It has been a while since I have watched season 2 and I actually forgot what was going on. During that part of the edit I became confused and had to pause the video and google a synopsis to understand what was going on. Because of this I had to deduct several points from the narrative.

There were also a few other instances with people limping or having bruises randomly which felt a little jarring because obviously something was missing but I understand that in an edit like this there will be several continuity issues.

Having said all that, I still enjoyed this edit quite a bit. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen the show before but it works very well as a season recap. Something that one may watch during a season break to refresh the events before a new season starts instead of watching the entire season over again. I didn't like season 2 that much at all and I would much rather watch this edit than ever go back and watch each episode of season 2 over again.

Absolutely loved this one. Will consider replacing any future Season 2 viewings with the relevant footage from Night of the Walking Dead. Having almost abandoned the show completely after the dreadfully slow pace buliding up to the "climax" which was the most predictable reveal of any suspensful plot that I can recall I can honestly say that the movie improves upon Season 2 in every way possible. The point in this film I thought was cut too short was when Rick was under the tank and had the gun to his head. He seems to change his mind too fast and abruptly climbs into the tank. I can't remember if he pulled the trigger and the round had already been fired or if he just changed his mind. This was the only "major" concern I have with this film. Although I loved Season 1 and feel it's worth viewing all six episodes in their entirity the rapid pace was something special and was a great experience. I am looking forward to repeated viewings of this film and will be recommending it to many. Well done and thank you for such an entertaining edit. Who knew the second season could be this exciting? Bravo.

my review of ranger613’s Night of the Walking Dead.
For those that have seen The Walking Dead, you’ll immediately love this. For those that have not seen it, well, what are you waiting for, permission? Oh, and if you have never seem TWD, stop reading now because there will be spoilers.

The first thing I noticed was the lack of Morgan, his son Duane and their story, which was good in the television program for story and continuity sake explaining how Rick went from coming out of a coma to being out on his own traveling to Atlanta, in a movie timeline, Morgan’s story was unnecessary.

One thing I really liked was not having to see Carol’s husband, like Morgan’s story, unnecessary.

Something that the TV program had too much off was the pointless walking around on Hershel’s farm, seriously, get on with the story already.

The well walker was fucking disgusting. I made the mistake of having lunch while I was watching this.

Glenn goes in the barn, Maggie gets her panties in a bunch, Glenn snitches and then Rick and Carl burn it to the MF’in ground after a crapload of talking and arguing about it that was fortunately removed from this.

Now I’ve probably missed things here and there that were excluded, I tried to get the bigger more noticeable ones since it’s 1am here in Toronto and I’m somewhat tired.

In my opinion, this is definitely worthy of being on the big screen, or in the very least, bought by and shown on AMC as a Walking Dead ‘special event’

Thanks to ranger613 for this fine piece of work. Now we wait for the season 3-4 movie. #NoPressureAtAll

Downloaded and watched this and I must say this is a great movie. I have watched the two seasons that this movie was composed from and I must say the move to a movie was absolutely seamless it took the hart of the two seasons and made it into a very enjoyable movie. I say that Ranger613 has done a super job of this and can't wait for the next installment(season 3 and 4). All I can say is you have outdone yourself I would like to see more of your work. Thank you Ranger613.
Thank you
Fred
