This is the perfect version of Breaking Bad season 1. There are 0 faults within the plot and structure of the whole film. The only problem there could be is the volume of the music. I am deeply saddened at the fact there will be no season 2 edit or it isn’t planned. I wish I could have done something or Random could have told me the deductive process he used while editing the first film so that I could do it myself.

This is quite amazing. The pacing has been really improved and edits are flawless. A fun rewatch for me. Keep up the good work.

I have long looked at doing an edit of Breaking Bad and I'm still not in that space, so a huge respect to anyone tacking this.

The narrative focus shif to Waltes and Jesse is clearly the way to go, and this certainly was an improvement on the plodding season 1 narrative, which would get a 6 from me unaltered.

The AV quality is a tad softer than my blu ray, but no issues otherwise.

The music enhancements are well chosen but are sometimes a tad too loud and mask the dialogue. A number of visual issues (titles creeping in etc) pulled me out more than once. These are easily resolvable but really should not be present hence my scoring.

This is a skillfull and overall well judged piece of work which is a great improvement of the unedited first season, which I nearly gave up on and had I seen this instead way back when, I would not have almost bailed out.

Overall: Recommended for sure and looking forward to Season 2

As an editor who has only made TV-to-Film edits, I understand the effort and gravity it took in order to accomplish this. This is nearly perfect summary of Season 1 with a single exception; the ending. While the editing accomplishes to transition to credits seamlessly, the narrative feels incomplete as an independent piece. With only 15-30 mins, the season could likely be completed. I personally wouldn't be opposed to the film running at 150 mins. I am aware that a sequel is in the works, so this critique may not be valid later on.

Audio-wise, the entire film transitions seamlessly from scene to scene. It's been nearly a year since I last watched through the original season, but it looks like there is new music inserted. None of this music feels out of place and blends perfectly into each scene.

In the visual department, the opening is much more visually appealing than the original show's repetitive and lackluster VFX. However, there are some The film appears to be converted to widescreen by setting the timeline to a smaller height, each shot adjusted one by one. I am very familiar with the process and how errors can pop up during this process. Sometimes, a shot can be cut too early, or too late, causing the shot to appear to jump. I've spotted this error occurring around 17:48 and at 19:25. In two cases, the opening credits still appear at 1:02:37 and 1:46:16. This could be a limitation of the editor's capabilities, though it is an easy fix and I'd be more than willing to contribute the edited shots if there were a planned re-release.

Overall, this is a fantastic fanedit, and a wonderful way to rewatch Breaking Bad Season 1 and I'm looking forward to the sequel!

To summarize: i loved the narrative you put together. The story flowed well. Great thoughts.

Here and there i would’ve insert some more scenes e.g. the planning for the break in to get the methylene and the first observation of the compound. Walter son is a sidekick, thats unfortunate, the connection between these two isn’t existent in this cut. Especially the moment where he stands up for him in the store. This would have also worked great as a stepping stone for his growing self-confidence since he started cooking meth and ultimately walking into the house of tuco salamanca and gets his money.
- the custom break in scene with the music from a later season didn’t work for me.
- Absolutely loved the ending music from radiohead. Perfect fit!

Minor thing: as mentioned the credits that got displayed when walter visited in his RV after getting his money back from tuco. That took me really out of it.

Audiowise: as mentioned before, the music is often louder than the dialog. i had to adjust the volume several times on my speaker system.
