Adabisi's take on "Groundhog Day" is a sweet confection.
He barely leaves a trace of Murray's arrogance and self-importance.
Instead, the reporter appears as ideal dating material, a potential soulmate.
Andie MacDowell's character can't help but experience that perfect first date.
The ending brought the curtain down swiftly, perhaps too swiftly.
The title is apt, as it recalls the smug beer pitchman of a few years back.
Fun, ironic, with an undertone that everyone is being conned.
Nice one.

This story almost worked. Overall, The Most Interesting Man in the World is a nice, if not saccharine, story about an intriguing fellow who falls in love. Phil's grumpy behavior at the beginning of the short kind of throws the entire thing off though. The transformation through repetition is important for Groundhog Day, but not needed for this short. A small detail that ended up changing the overall effect. Still, it is edited together quite well and makes for an enjoyable short.
