We know Tarantino has told us in interviews both Kill Bill movies were made as 1 film...but the industry folks can't handle releasing to theaters a movie that long and since the 2nd half had a different theme - he had no problem splitting them up. THEN the Japanese boot of Vol 1 showed us more footage and fight scenes in full color....so....until Netflix or whatever releases an extended version --- THIS is the version you want to watch as a full movie!!!
and you get a bonus fight with Bill and a gang in between that was not released....
Kill Bill has always been my least favourite Quentin Tarantino film. It's all over the place in terms of story and tone, but, to put my bias aside, this is a very well done Extended Edition of both Kill Bill. This is what the director intended, and this is what Dr. Sapirstein made. Everything was edited excellently and presented to a very high standard. I can recommend this to any Kill Bill fan or to anyone who was casually entertained by both movies..
This is the only way I can watch Kill Bill anymore, however I have to echo others' comments about the low quailty of the restored deleted scene, and wonder why it was necessary to include said scene in the first place. However, the scene does look significantly better in the HD edition of this than it did in QTheGajin's original SD edit.
