What a great edit! The extra 40 mins wasn't missed at all, thank you for shortening it so it's more enjoyable :)

Streamlining the Janet/Kang scenes to the pre-titles makes sense and helps set the pace. Smoothing over characters a little bit (less jokes, less emotion, less self-centeredness, etc.) was very necessary, and really well done.

Having the ants overload Kang's shield was great, they felt more useful. The heartbeat was really cool, although I may have had my base up too high so it was a little distracting. I liked how it reflected the mood, kept me tense.

The colourpop of the movie was the real winner for me. Each area felt very distinct from one another, which helped me keep track of where I was in the world.

Most importantly removing MODOK was huge. I can honestly say I didn't even notice he was missing, except for the fact that I hated him originally. Removing Jentorra I didn't really care one way or the other but I feel like the flow was improved!

All in all your changes turned a clunky, choppy movie into a smooth 2 hours!

This edit turns a real disappointment of a movie into a super fun adventure! By removing some rather half-baked side characters, unnecessary Marvel Easter egg characters (MODOK is no more, which is great even though I was never as critical as many were with how he looked), and excessive MCU humor (though humor remains), the movie is more focused on the main conflict. Additionally, starting with Janet's backstory with Kang improves the pacing later on and allows him to be a background threat throughout (also, in the real world continuity of MCU project releases, we'd already met Kang in Loki, so introducing him as a surprise in this movie was a bit redundant). Definitely recommend this edit.

Undeniably better. A "go to" version, for me.

A/V QUALITY

Looked great, and while the audio is 2.0, it still sounded pretty good.

VISUAL EDITING

Visual cuts were good, though it was unusual not seeing a, "this is a fanedit" warning up front.

AUDIO EDITING

Several audio cuts were noticed, and the added heartbeat sounds in one of the scenes was distracting (to me), but looking at the change log, there were a lot of cuts that breezed by. I will send some detailed notes to the editor with timestamps, but the list is very short.

NARRATIVE

It's a brisk 75 minutes before the credits roll, but it absolutely works, and the revised opening with Kang is indelible. The only narrative challenge is MODOK who is seen twice(?) in an anonymous way but without any payoff. Not having all of those weirdly composited shots of Darren's face is worth a bit of unfulfilled intrigue, though. I did think the denizens of of the quantum world were perhaps a bit too heavily trimmed. I missed "holes" guy.

ENJOYMENT

It's not a great movie, but it's much better than the original. I wish I could rate this > 10 so my review would reflect that.

Watched this the other night and it fixes everything wrong with the original. The focus on Kang is there. Instead of just having to focus on Ant-Man it focuses on the entire team and reminds you how much Ant-Man needs the Wasp. The running time is so perfect and the ending left me so satisfied. Looking forward to more stuff. Thank you.

I have to begin by saying this edit is absolutely amazing. It took out all the unnecessary fluff and made the film what it should have been in the first place. A good movie. I was immediately drawn into the world of the Quantum Realm, and felt the real heart of the story. The video quality is top notch, the audio was crystal clear. and the rendering is done perfectly. Thanks to all who have contributed to making this, and I am grateful for having the ability to see it. A very well done piece of work.
