I, LOVED, THIS, EDIT!!

I'm slightly bias because I love anything Grindhouse but this edit was an absolute joy to watch.

The opening credits were awesome, the colour grading, dust, decaying audio and film effects were great, and the overall feel of this cut transformed the original material to another level.

The added music selection is seriously on point, especially with the use of instrumentals in places but I did feel the only thing that let this version down was the transitions between some songs. While I understand the new score needed to be loud in order to cover the original soundtrack, most songs felt they went on a little too long and could've ended much sooner in the scene to give breathing space to the dialogue. Some earlier additions could've ended a bit smoother too.

I.e. - The Doors track is perfect but should've ended after the bar sequence between Bruce and Aqua man, having it continue during the outdoor scene made for an unnatural transition between the folk singers.

The first scene between Bruce and Diana should've also ended much sooner as it felt like it ended abrupt which pulled me out of the scene. A simple fade out after the flashback could've helped that transition smoother and be less jarring.

It would've been really cool if the music slowed down while the Flash caught the Batarang and continued playing when the scene returned to normal speed.

I've seen Queen "Flash" track being used several times before but you actually got the timing great and it fitted that scene perfectly, imo.

The original Wonder Woman theme song was brilliantly placed and really started this movie off on the right foot, and I’m a sucker for cheesy 80s tracks.

You've really captured what I love about Grindhouse movies and the cheesy ending is now my go to climax

Perfect ending to and awesome edit.

Congratulations on the award, Well deserved.

Very solid edit, while this movie is still a mess I think you definitely trimmed the mess down into a much more palatable and fun watch, though you know the movie is too long when a 2 hour edit is the short palatable version :p

Overall though I really liked this edit, the extra sidestories felt so pointless in Zack Snyders cut, this feels like a much more rounded experience, at least what can be done with the source material. Loved the grindhouse aspects to the film, my friends got so upset at the "lost reel" and I was laughing so hard.

My only complaint really is that there are too many good songs in this movie, I would cut out a good chunk of the music or at least turn the volume down a bit and go into instrumental parts for some of them. It felt like 1 song would end and another would pick right back up. Good song choices but too many. Subtitles would also be appreciated.

"turn the volume down a bit"

No can do. Volume plays a role in masking what was left from original soundtrack.

"and go into instrumental parts for some of them"

And that's exactly what I did.

This is the ideal, R-Rated DC Comics movie, & that’s including some actual R-Rated DC comics movies. This edit embraces Snyder’s “mature” sensibilities while still preserving the fun factor thanks to some choice music tracks, filtered through an incredible grindhouse sheen over the footage.

I can’t say this is my preferred JL edit if ever I want to marathon the DCEU, but if I’m ever in the mood for DC-flavored ultraviolence, this will be my top pick.

To start off, i did not like the Movies.
One wasjust bad and the far to long cut was far to long.
Also, i couldnt shake the fact that thje story keeps beeing weak.
So why waste another 2hours than ? Becauzse Gieferg !

His treatmant of Alien was one of the funniest and best Grindhouse touch ups i have ever seen and i wanne see all of them now.
JL is fun, its weird with that 70´s Music and it fits like crazy.
The seriousness of the OG movie is now on a believable level and i highly enjoyed the watch.

There's a lot to say about this edit. First and foremost, it was better than watching the original movie. There are also several moments of pure genius/fun. Did I enjoy it? Not really. It's still Justice League and it's still bloated and struggles to find a balanced tone, and it's still full of boring scenes I wanted to skip through. It's important to establish firmly that I think the DC movies are pretty horrendous overall, so I was biased going into this, but I wanted to have fun and enjoy it so I did my best.

Regarding the edits (keep in mind this is all subjective and I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me):
The music edits sound like they're separate from the film, and often are too low in the mix. Some of the music is excellently placed (MORE Sabbath = Good Time, I also loved a lot of the canned background music during the more dialogue heavy scenes) and some of it is genuinely terrible (if I never hear the riff from Kashmir again in my life it'll be too soon. I could also do without the Johnny Cash- it's just so overdone. And the song playing in the last battle when Auquaman jumps into the air was just terrible terrible terrible). Some of the sound effects were pretty fun though. There's also a number of instances where original music bleeds in, but it's not the end of the world.

As for the video editing... it looks more to me like a bad CAM rip then an old film reel. I don't think the "Grindhouse" look is very successful on the whole, BUT there are a number of moments where it looks excellent (usually when there is heavy CG backdrops and/or bright exteriors). I also think a TON more could have been trimmed.

When this edit works it works well, but because it's still 2+hrs long the "Grindhouse" aspect starts to wear thin. Had it been a super cut of just awesome action scenes and tighter melodrama it would have been a lot of fun, but as is it struggles to find balance. That said, if you're a fan of Justice League you'll probably have a lot of fun with this edit.
