Really lived up to the description of the edit. Spoilers below.

Used this as a rewatch along with the unedited John wick 2. I orignally preferred John Wick 2 over the original handily, but this edit has turned the tables on that. It feels and flows much more naturally and spaces out the action scenes well without feeling overwhelming. I didn't miss the flashbacks or side characters which were cut out. I felt the fight against Viggo at the end was much less campy and felt more gritty.

The scene of Marcus getting killed seemed a bit iffy, but I can't remember if that was the original or edited. Also I do wish the scene of Mr.s Perkins getting excommunicated was somehow kept in. Finally, I think the edit cut out the shot showing that the new dog he adopted was scheduled for euthanization in the closing scene which I think could have been left in as well.

Overall great edit and would highly recommend.

Regarding AV quality and editing, this looks perfect. It flows seamlessly through the film.

The removal of Perkins subplot works, nothing is lost without it.
One of the best ideas was Avi's role being reduced; every scene about not being able to speak Russian was really annoying on the original.

The action is really tight now and the story flows a lot better. The pacing feels just right. Removing / editing the flashbacks also helps.
Now it's great action scene followed by great action scene.

Thanks for this!

Decided to watch this after seeing part 4. A trimmed down version of John wick to remind me what it was i was missing from the sequels. Had a good time. TM2YC Really nails the aim of the edit.

There are some advantages and downsides next to the original. It removes a bit of flavour from the original, but that in turn makes the movie a bitt more tasteful and sharp. The only thing I miss is “I’m thinking I’m back!”. That’s such a key moment for me in the original. No mind though.

I was most impressed by the removal of the neon titles that go through the movie. Looking at the way this was achieved. Wow!

Lastly, I’m glad that TM2YC did the colour version. I probably wouldn’t have watched the black and white.

Heartwarming story about a cat named Keanu and his dog. . . well, his ex-dog. Also a touching portrayal of parental expectations.

Told with economy.
Presented in warm black & white.
Technically perfect, as TM2YC's edits usually are.

Masterful. Just masterful. I do not have a single thing to object here. A solid replacement of the original, in my book. As the other fellas have said, the technical quality is astoundingly good. The plot is coherent and goes straight to the point. No nonsense, just plentiful action nicely presented in black and white. A great piece of fan editing!
