Jaws The Sharksploitation Edit

Really enjoyed this one. There were a couple of negatives about it for me (too much [sometimes distracting] grain, music choices I personally didn’t like), but overall, top notch stuff. Some of the additions were pretty funny, too. And all of it was clever, which people fully expect in a TMBTM edit. :) Anyone who’s a fan of the original, or even just wants to see a fun, original movie experience, should by all means watch it…right now! Seems I rated it long ago and forgot to review it (typical of me), and I think I gave it 9/10.

Darned good cut! It’s as if we’re peeking into an alternate universe where Steven Spielberg ended up making a schlocky B-movie instead of a classic. In this universe, Jaws was likely met with success, but the film lacked the staying power to propel Spielberg beyond B-movies. Instead, he’d likely go on to direct such films as “Quest for the Stolen Ark” and “Private Ryan Must be Saved!”, never getting much critical acclaim but building somewhat of a cult fanbase for his low-budget, crass, but endearingly cheesy films. Excellent edit all around!
