Thor Ragnorok is so spectacularly awful in execution that sitting through even a shortened version is tough at times.. Still, for the benefit of this edit, I did try, and the cuts are where they need to be and are seamless. If only something had been done about the ghastly scenes with Doctor Strange.

Onto the parts that did please me, which were the additions of Infinity War and Endgame, they add so much more depth, drama and stakes to the film, and also adds to Thor's rollercoaster journey. The edit touches on every emotion, and in these final 58 minutes you do finally become invested in what the lead is going through.

Due to focusing so much on Thor, some plotlines are left open-ended and if you haven't seen the original Infinity War, you will be very lost in some respects, but it's not too jarring and you can get the gist of it. This film retains all the consequences of the original, and it doesn't forget which characters are important either.

As an edit, I would recommend it for it's technical and narrative achievements, if you love Ragnarok and these films, it is definitely worth a watch

My review:
(Please don't read if you are about to watch this edit. CONTAINS SPOILERS)

Owning the full Marvel/DC BluRay backcat, I was really interested in seeing this edit, as I love Ragnarock, my favourite Thor movie :)

So let's get into it :)

Great edit and to be honest I only noticed one cut, the rest were flawless (from my viewing perspective).

1st look, its obviously a high quality edit, great picture and sound etc. No issue here.

With the refined plot I found the 1st arc to be funnier and the comedy aspect really shone through for me, alongside the action from all sides, including the strong female leads of Valkyrie and Thors sister, all showing their strengths through brute force, projectiles, heavy artillery and fragmented war monoliths, condensed to follow this specific narrative. It was a great contrast to the 2nd arc, starting with the kiss.

I fealt this bridge did work for me :)

Rather than tension being broken by a comedy element (in Hitchcock fashion), here, in the 1st arc, we see high positive comedy elements followed by a dark drop with the Thanos entrance. Super high, now to an all time low (Lokis death).

We follow into the 2nd arc, a more serious segment, still with comedy elements involved but more sparse, again building on the tension, now more like a forward Hitchcock.

The tension is released with the Guardians (2nd entrance into the destruction scene), to be built straight back up again. Great up and down emotional part here. This edit really gave me a strong emotional connection with Thor leading up to this point, I'm all in now!!

Time for some payback with the weapon build :)

Into the 3rd arc, we are introduced to alot of new characters dotting in and out, expanding the plot, stitching all these elements together. Who are all these people? It doesn't matter because for me at this point, I accept they are just side characters to expand the main narrative. We are going forward, Thor vs Thanos.

After all the drama we end with a solid Thor/Thanos moment!!

Brilliant!!

A few unanswered questions like 2 stones to 4 but we accept while Thor has been building his new axe, Thanos (along with the rest of the Guardians) have been chasing the other stones.

Also there's more answers in the post credit scene that ties up bits so you get that cherry on the cake feeling (the Marvel treat).

In all honesty this style could be used across the board and it would be interesting to see this with other character evolutions such as the Hulk/Black Widow combo etc. If Disney ends up releasing series we are on a winner :)

Great edit (in my humble opinion), well done :)

The Editing for the Fan FIlm was done spectacularly. Brining Thor's story from each films was done so well.

Such an entertaining watch and definitely one that I will watch time and time again.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this edit. There are lots of things in the original movies that don't make sense and confuse me so it helped me to see this edit. The story flows and makes sense. And Thor is my favorite. This edit is definitely an improvement over the originals.

This was a pretty rad edit. The quality was fine, the editing was seamless (The one cut that stood out to me turned out to be in the original film). It was a nice excuse to watch Ragnarok again, I forgot how much I loved it. The highlight was the transition to Infinity War, which was very well put together. The Infinity War portion was really neat, there were no problems with the narrative despite so much being cut out. I think it may be a bit confusing to someone who hasn't seen Infinity War, but I can't imagine anyone watching this who hasn't already seen it, plus if anything else was left in it would just feel unfocused, so I don't have a problem. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is what I call a Fun-Edit.
Note: Do not watch if you do not like Thor Ragnarok.
