Lapis Molari knocks it out of the park with this fanedit on the technical level.

I hadn't watched the film in years (I've always hated this and Crystal Skull) but was willing to watch it in fanedit form with fresh eyes.

First, the editing is flawless. I noticed no unusual cuts, audio or pacing issues. The quality is all there, so now we are left with the film itself.

This time watching it, I didn't completely hate it. And that is an improvement for me. It's still nowhere near as a good as Raiders or Last Crusade, but it's lightyears ahead of the insipid Crystal Skull (even with fanedits).

So, for a deeply flawed film, this fanedit is a great improvement. It's definitely better than the theatrical cut and it has replaced my official version on my media server.

Good job, Lapis! Good job indeed!

I remember watching the original and my only complaint about it was Willie Scott herself who I really couldn't but this edit doesn't literally change her character but makes her more tolerable and kinda see her in a softer light but she is still annoying and useless but in her defense, she is a damsel-in-distress archetype since this movie is obviously an homage to classic adventure movies like King Kong and she isn't the first female that Indy bicker and argue so I could forgive her character but not her personality nor the actress performance (and nepotism too lol). Because Willie Scott is in the entire movie, this toned-down version of her makes this movie experience less of a chore/endurance test and more fun and campy on her part. Surprisingly my only complaint is the edited-out parts of outdated SFXS scenes which are like as I said about the movies is part of the fun and campy theme of the movie which might upset some purists who expected a more conservative fan edit (and who hates Willie Scott too) and feels like the movie is censored especially at the Kali Ma scene but nevertheless, it does not affect the flow of the movie.

A masterfully done edit, truly wonderful.
I have always considered Temple of Doom to be the weakest link in the original trilogy, but didn't realize how much better it could get just by trimming Willie Scott. It is not only a more pleasant viewing experience, and slightly less male-chauvinistic, but the pacing improves dramatically by removing the unnecessary close-ups on her shrieks.
The technical aspects, as always with Lapis Molari, are flawless. I especially appreciated the trimming of some of the horrible and obvious blue screen scenes.
All in all, a highly recommended edit.

I like Temple of Doom. For a long time it was my favorite Indiana Jones film. Today, it would probably be The Last Crusade. I don't really bother ranking them as they are all great. However, there's no denying - Willie Scott was annoying and very forgettable female sidekick. By making those little, yet so effective, trims to her character the movie improves ten fold.
