Lapis Molari knocks it out of the park with this fanedit on the technical level.

I hadn't watched the film in years (I've always hated this and Crystal Skull) but was willing to watch it in fanedit form with fresh eyes.

First, the editing is flawless. I noticed no unusual cuts, audio or pacing issues. The quality is all there, so now we are left with the film itself.

This time watching it, I didn't completely hate it. And that is an improvement for me. It's still nowhere near as a good as Raiders or Last Crusade, but it's lightyears ahead of the insipid Crystal Skull (even with fanedits).

So, for a deeply flawed film, this fanedit is a great improvement. It's definitely better than the theatrical cut and it has replaced my official version on my media server.

Good job, Lapis! Good job indeed!

A masterfully done edit, truly wonderful.
I have always considered Temple of Doom to be the weakest link in the original trilogy, but didn't realize how much better it could get just by trimming Willie Scott. It is not only a more pleasant viewing experience, and slightly less male-chauvinistic, but the pacing improves dramatically by removing the unnecessary close-ups on her shrieks.
The technical aspects, as always with Lapis Molari, are flawless. I especially appreciated the trimming of some of the horrible and obvious blue screen scenes.
All in all, a highly recommended edit.

As far as I could tell, the audio and videos edits were seamless. If I hadn't already known, I probably wouldn't realize that anything had been cut.

I think that this edit excellently achieves its goal of trimming Willie Scott's comic-relief shenanigans and turning her into a more competent character. I never particularly minded Willie in the first place, but this is probably a big improvement for those who did.

While this edit didn't fix the main issues that I have with the movie, I'm not sure whether any edit can. For what it sets out to achieve, I think that it is a success.

My only complaint is the removal of the heart-ripping shot. The scene just seems odd without it to me, and I never had any problems with the special effects in that shot.

I always thought TOD was the weakest Indy movie.

I considered this to be true even after Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released. Crystal Skull suffered from a lot of issues that affect modern cinema, but TOD was always bad. Different kinds of bads.

NJVC fixed Crystal Skull, changing the movie into something I can easily enjoy, Raiders of the Lost Skull.

TOD was something I never found really fixed...until now. I thought it was a pity, since it had some inspiring moments, and a young Indiana Jones, in a different, dark adventure.

I always thought it was because of including the kids in the story and the difficulty to film something realistic with so many kids... I thought that there was something not letting things work there.

But then I saw this release and watched it. What a big surprise. How Willie Scott was protrayed in the movie was the main lackluster... fixing Willie revives the film in so many ways!
Pace is better, character development and depth feels better, the story feels more real and natural....
This edit has left me with "my" go-to version of TOD. At last a version I can easily rewatch!

lapis did it for me. A version of the movie I can enjoy, despite its flaws (in the original movie).

This could be somehow considered a "feminist" edit, in the best meaning of the word possible and I cannot do anything else but strongly recommend its viewing.
