Brief Synopsis:
To remove the QT cringe fest and one scoring misstep.

Intention:
This is the lightest edit I have ever put out there, though there is a complex rebuild required to pull it off.

When I first saw this, I immediately balked at the flashback voice over. There was also one scoring piece I disliked, so I replaced it. Apart from a few other tweaks, I now think this is perfect.

Also the scene after the intermission (which is not present) required a full audio rebuild as they drag the corpse out into the snow.

The removal of the Q.T.V.O. also required a similar full audio rebuild, as di the one major scor replacement...(watch to see where).

Additional Notes:
Once the extended version is commercially released, I will execute the same manouever.

Thank you, Wraith, for the possibility to watch this film without cringing midway through. To be able to show it to someone who hasn't seen it and not have to say, "I know, I know, but it's still good, despite that voiceover." Tarantino makes great and enjoyable films, maybe his ego is earned, but the display of it is just so grating, with the voiceover here and the bad Australian accent in Django. Here, it's fixed and the film can finally be enjoyed without exception. I'd say this is the best way to watch the film but Wraith also released the Roadshow Version, and that wins.

Perhaps I'm one of the few, but I loved The Hateful Eight when it first came out in theaters. I wasn't lucky enough to see it in 70mm, but I still considered it my favorite film of 2015, even though a lot of people seemed to disagree with me. I don't think this edit is going to change minds, as I think it's going to take a lot more than getting rid of that one narration for that one scene to make it something that will satisfy the critics. But with that said, I liked this minor improvement over the original, and will wholeheartedly recommend it to any fan of the film.

There isn't much to review with this one. You'll either like the removal of the narration or you won't. I liked it, although I can imagine someone criticizing it due to Daisy's reaction not being very clear cut, especially since the audience is juggling with the "other" dilemma on the southern side of the room. Perhaps an extra shot of Domergue seeing the poisoned coffee or reacting with motivation would give the scene more confirmation that Domergue... Has a secret. Still, in a movie that's basically a glorified stageplay, I appreciated seeing the opening of the next chapter with less talk and more visuals. And the visuals say a lot in that moment.

So yeah, I liked this rendition of The Hateful Eight. It might be better for the fans only, but it was a rootin' tootin' shootin' good time for me. I say give it a go.
