Brief Synopsis:
I've always loved the Harry Potter books, but the movies have been pretty hit or miss for me. I completely love what they have made, but there are many scenes of poor acting, or bad character choices that are completely fixable.
My main goals overall:
- Create light edits that don't try to reimagine or create anything new, but rather just enhance the original movies
- Remove small annoyances and some poor performances (Harry shushing Ron, Barty Crouch Jr tongue flicks, dumbing down Hagrid, etc)
- Retain as much world building as possible (Clock in the Weasley's home, monster roar at housekeeping in PoA, etc)
- Keep the original music to their own movies, except for a few rare occasions
- Tighten up action wherever I could
Goals for Deathly Hallows p2:
- Incorporate a select few deleted scenes
- Change young Lily's eyes to blue
- Fix bad writing and acting wherever possible

Intention:
Harry Potter is one of my favorite series' ever. I've got so much nostalgia from growing up with the books and movies. But even watching as a kid I remember disliking some things about the movies. I don't want to rob the movies of their charm, but I did see some things that I believe would be better changed or removed. I think these small changes make the experience a better one overall.

Editing Details:
I didn't want to do anything too drastic, but instead create a very light edit to remove things that might take you out of the viewing experience.
Cuts and Additions:
- Color corrected many darker scenes throughout the entire movie for just a bit more visibility
- Added the deleted cottage scene with Bill talking about the goblin, and the scene right after with Luna talking to Harry at Dobby's grave. Color corrected both to match. Added On the Rocks song from Deathly Hallows Pt1 behind the first deleted scene
- Trimmed up the timing as the dragon burns the goblin alive
- Added music behind when Ginny first sees Harry return to Hogwarts. Used the same track I added to the previous movie with her scene with Harry for continuity
- Added in the deleted scene with Harry holding Ginny's hand as they walk to Snape (Credit to JJPotter for the footage without greenscreen)
- Added in the deleted scene with Tonks and Lupin before the battle (Again credit to JJPotter for the footage without greenscreen)
- Cut back on just a bit of Snape being bitten by the snake so many times
- Changed all shots of young Lily's eyes to be blue instead of brown to match adult Lily and Harry's eyes
- Shortened the shot of mini, bloody Voldemort in King's Cross station. It just lingered on him for way too long
- When Neville pulls the sword out of the hat he stands in a really goofy position. I cut that shot
- Cut Voldemort slapping Harry during their fight a little before they jump off the tower. It was a little too goofy for the scene
- Cut the shots of Voldemort and Harry merging into one while flying around Hogwarts

And thus we come to the end of our journey of the Almighty Edits. Since this is my favorite HP movie, this one had the best touching up and the added deleted scenes only enhanced the movie further. I am so glad I suggested changing Young Lily's eye to blue as now the line said by multiple characters throughout the series, "You have your mothers eyes." is consistent. This is the best cut of the movie by far and not only that, the changes made in the previous Almighty Cuts of Harry Potter, help keep characters smart such as Ron instead of him being a bumbling idiot and vice versa. Overall, this is the definitive cut of Deathly Hallows Part 2 for me and I highly recommend people watch it especially after watching the previous edits.
