Brief Synopsis:
It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie and her estranged family now face a terrifying homecoming when "The Shape" returns to Haddonfield — but this time, she's ready for him.
Intention:
HALLOWEEN by David Gordon-Green had decent suspense, the music was phenomenal and it was interesting to see yet a different take on the character of Laurie Strode. But as usual, I felt like there were some missed opportunities. The pacing of several sequences felt too quick and over-edited, and almost every instance of awkward "improv" humor detracted from the experience or fell flat.

By removing these moments and stretching out others (as well as re-ordering some scenes), I'm trying to balance the overall pacing of the movie and increase suspense. Bascially, make it feel more like the original whenever possible.

Editing Details:
Instead of altering major aspects of the movie, I focused on the minutiae. Brief shots were removed or combined, words were switched out, music cues added and much much more.

This was intended to have a cumulative effect of making the movie better in almost imperceptible ways.
Cuts and Additions:
Among the more than 130 changes:

- added 15 shots or audio from the trailers
- reinstated 3 deleted scenes (edited and color corrected)
- fixed continuity mistakes or goofs
- stretched out various moments to slow down pacing

Holy @#$%! I went into this cold not remembering much about the 2018 Halloween movie that is the basis for this edit. Halloween Returns is hands down the scariest Halloween I've seen since watching the original 1978 version as a kid. It's as if the devil himself possessed this edit. I'm not a huge fan of all of the sequels or remakes but I asked to preview this edit and The Doctor's Cut by JNisch last year after being inspired by Night of Samhain by Last Survivor. Unfortunately, I lost both on an external hard drive and didn't get to watch them. I recently found this one... and Wow!

The editing is seamless and the movie just seems darker and more haunting. Like this could really happen somewhere. I really like that Michael is portrayed as a full-on nut job instead of a super-human monster. The music, especially that spike that grinds every so often, is perfect. Made us jump several times. This edit is truly unnerving and chilling. It seems more like a creepy mass murderer with a horror element than the original or other movies in the series.

It is certainly as good as any other Halloween movies or edits I've seen. I will be amazed if this doesn't grab Last Survivor's coveted October fanedit of the month award.

Certainly our go to for the 2018 release!

I had many small gripes with the official cut of the movie. To the point where it really started to annoy me and I couldn't even complete a re-watch of it. This fanfix is outstanding and it somehow completely erased most, if not all, the gripes I had with it! As if the faneditor could read my mind as he was assembling this version. Every change is done wonderfully and skillfully. Didn't notice any audio edits or jarring visual edits. It's all done so carefully. The pacing and suspense have been greatly improved. The narrative is much tighter and stronger. No more awkward and out of place humor. I also like how the violence got dialed back. A big improvement in every aspect. I finall got REAL enjoyment out of this movie. This is my go-to-version now. Highly recommended!

So, i never watched the original from 2018, so i´m a virgin for this one and oh boy! (but i do know that there is some funky humour in it)
Despite i can´t tell what and how do you changed, you aimed to make this movie suspenful and MM more menacing? Definetly achieved. I felt like watching the modern version of the original from 1978, so bravo @thebutcher. The twist is very well placed.
Didn´t noticed any cut/re-arrange, the colour grading fits, the quality (bluray version) is right were it needed to be.
Now i´m stoked for the upcoming Halloween Kills
