Brief Synopsis:
The legendary outlaw Star Lord leads a gang of intergalactic criminals, in a relucant crusade against a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe of life.

This extended cut reintegrates 7 deleted and extended scenes back into the film, with 4 more minutes of footage. With finished VFX, and a new mid-credits scene, strap into your spaceship, put in your mixtape and get ready to be hooked on a feeling in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: XANDARIAN EDITION!
Intention:
As the third Guardians of the Galaxy film was coming out, I decided to revisit the first film and add back in some of the deleted scenes that were finished. There's some character moments, especially one with Gamora/Nebula, that I liked to see back in, and now they are!
Additional Notes:
This was one of my first fanedits way back in 2017, and was terrible on a technical level, with bad cuts and encoding all over the place. People still message me every now and again, so with the new film coming out I decided to go back and remake my own ancient edit.

- MCU Phase 2 Bonus Disc - Grandpa Quill mid-credits was taken from this disc
- Rocket Raccoon Says F--- (UNCENSORED): A long since removed Youtube video by Evan Santiago has some edits adding swears to the film

There's a few unfinished VFX in some shots, and I have done my best to clean up and complete them, so hopefully its not too bad.

- finished VFX in 3 shots for previous scene, removing supports for the set dressing

- added John C. Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz discussing the Kyln prison before sending Quill, Rocket, Groot and Gamora there
- finished VFX in 1 shot, as the lineup VFX was still temp VFX

This is now my definitive version of what is my favorite Marvel film. Expertly-done integration with the theatrical edition of the film, and there's no reason to watch any other version.

There's little to say about Bobson's take on Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the same movie you know and love, just with an added 4 minutes. I do like how this version clarifies Gamora's intentions, but otherwise, it's the same movie. I noticed the cutlist mentions an extra scene where Rocket says the F-word, but it must've flown by my head. I didn't hear it. Still, I'm sure it's a welcome change for some of you if you hear it.

Overall, if you loved the first Guardians movie (and that's a lot of people), then you'll more than likely enjoy this edit too.

All deleted scenes are expertly reinserted into the film in a flawless fanedit.

As a note, none of the scenes alter the story in any way. I find myself neutral to them; they neither enhance nor detract from the film significantly. They were likely trimmed for pacing reasons. Completists will enjoy having them back in the film and I certainly recommend this fanedit to anyone who loves Guardians of the Galaxy and wants the added material back in the film.
