I watched Green Lantern when it first came out and was definitely underwhelmed, it wasn't the worst movie but there were a lot of little things that added up that made the movie a one and done for me. SKYflix delivers a trimmed down and straight to the point movie that is how the original release should have been. Video and audio editing is executed perfectly and this edit is an overall improvement over the original.

Now this is a huge improvement on the original comercial release, SKYflix delivers a trimmed down, straight to the point GL movie that almost meets my expectations for one of my favorite comic book characters.

Thankfully all the dumbest and mopey Hal Jordan moments are gone, and while its unfortunate that its imposible to replace Ryan Reynolds with a better actor; his trademark "look at how a funny guy I am" moments are trimmed to a bare minimum.

The plot remains the same, not really in line with either the real GL origin or the Parallax arc; yet it is much more enjoyable with all the unnecessary and repetitive exposition.

I have to say I missed the final scene in which Sinestro forges his yellow ring.

Video and audio editing is seamless, sadly we have yet another 2.0 audio track; therefore points are deducted from A/V quality.

Overall a great improvement.

In short - this edit rocked! This is so much a better version of the original and I thank SKYflix for it. I think some of the other reviews are a little too critical of what is only a comic book superhero character turned into a live action movie - it's not Gone With The Wind but this edit achieves everything I expect from a fun and action filled movie of this genre.

I have to admit, I did make a personal copy of this edit for myself with a slight variation, but I never would have been able to do that without this masterful edit.

If you're a DC universe fan you will love it, and I highly recommend this edit to resurrect what is a worthy character to the franchise. But if you're not a fan then don't watch it - quite simple really!

When I saw the theatrical version of Green Lantern I was disappointed. It was nowhere near the quality of Spiderman, Batman Begins or the whole lot of Marvel-comic-movies (only Hulk 2 is on a similar awful level).
So I was curious what a good fanedit could achieve. This edit is marvellous from a technical perspective, audio-transitions, visual transitions, great use of new music to make the audio-cuts seamless... everything is perfect, like it came out that way by the studio and in good HD-quality. Awesome work! I really wish I could edit that well technically, but I'm not yet on that level.
-SPOILER-Alert-
Narratively the goal was to make the movie more cool, more herolike, the hero is more admirable, doesn't falter, doesn't doubt too much, the villain (Hector) is more focused, not so irritatingly erratic and creepy... and the plot is built up more logically by getting rid of some detracting subplots.

That was the goal, and the goal was 100% achieved. Great editing to achieve that.

But, and it pains me to say that, by getting rid of all that awful stuff from the original (it's really awfully presented and told in the original), the heart and soul of the story is severely drained. So drained I asked myself what the point of the story is, when it misses all that struggle of the main-hero to embrace his destiny and the backstory with Hector and the interweaving of Hal's struggle with the overcoming of fear that mirrors with the overall struggle against that rogue guardian.

So by getting rid of all that awfully told main-story from the original, the edit is much more logical and much better presented, but becomes empty narratively.

--SPOILER-Alert-END---

I still highly recommend the edit, because a) it's so marvellously edited technically (I envy your skills, SkyFlix) and b) because it achieved perfectly what it set out to do, even though it imho destroyed the heart and point of the story.
