There was a time back when I first watched the film in theaters that I had the intention of doing an edit exactly like this myself, but I never got around to it. Then comes fRiEnD and drops an absolute banger of an edit. All of the ideas that I had when conceiving the edit came to fruition and with such focus and precision. The main problem that would've been the final scene with everyone looking to Godzilla as he leaves was also done really well, but as the creator said, it's the only thing that will look slightly gross. An awesome edit that had a lot of thought put into it. This is the only way to watch this film.
This was a fun movie to begin with but this edit helped to raise the bar by cutting out all the unnecessary “exposition”. Godzilla films are well known for wasting our valuable time before the battles scenes we paid for. This edit gives us what we want…more monster action! I did not see any errors in sound or visuals and I like the pacing much better then the original. I highly recommend this to my fellow monster fans!
This one gets a big ole' stamp of approval from me, for sure. I was very happy with this edit. fRiEnD did a great job tastefully cutting out a ton of the bad stuff in this movie (and there was SO. MUCH. BAD STUFF) , while leaving plenty enough in to stay as a coherent plot & narrative. wonderful job, and a proud addition to my growing collection.
Tecnicaly flawless. I'll cut right to the chase just like this edit does. By cutting out the subplots of the Scuby gang (it loses noting from thre absense) the audience gets to what they paid there ticket for.: Godzilla V Kong. And its spectacular fun. I was not sure it needed the Charles Dance scene at the start. Maybe I wasnt fully concentrating but I did not understand what was going on there.
This is now my go to version and I cant see myself watching the original again.
I really enjoyed it. Nothing from memory stood out, so the editing is top notch for such a fast action packed film. Action scenes are combined to make the film more explosive. I applaud the editor for making Nathan a much more worthy hero of the film. He's beefed up somewhat and is much more watchable with the goofiness toned down in both his character and towards the film in general.
The visuals and audio are brilliant. There were some sound cues taken from other films that I recognised.
I agree with another reviewer that although Charles Dance is a great actor and one who's work I respect, his intro scene could have been dropped for the edit. It wasn't really needed as it didn't add anything.
Overall I think the edit was exactly what was needed to improve the film. All the right cuts had been made to streamline a bloated action film into an actual monster movie with no unnecessary scenes and keeping the actors lines to a minimum. Brilliant job.
