Future Shock

This is probably a tie for my favorite (along with Run Marty Run). I've watched this sucker at least a dozen times and I still laugh, even now just thinking about it while writing this review. That matrixgrindhouse... goddammit he's good. The son of a bitch is good.

This was pure fun. Not sure about the editing style itself, but it made me laughed anyway until the last shot, after credits.
So mission accomplished.

The opening animations were quite grand.

I was blown away at the opening. It's very fitting. This guy... was so ridiculous... You'd think their would be some sort of TTWI laws in the future (Time Travel while under the influence).

When the credits started rolling... I was like... Wha!! No way! So I must now make my way to the commentary to see where matrixgrindhouse managed to fit over a half dozen sources into this.

Two thumbs up for enjoyment, narrative, and editing, however, how-come the interlaced release? I did enable bob de-interlacing but it still seemed off. I got over it after a while, but it took a minute. However, matrixgrindhouse is known for things of this nature. It's sort of his signature at this point.

Highly recommended overall, great job.

Update:

After watching the audio commentary and being told why interlaced was chosen, interlaced makes the most sense. Much of the sources were shot in interlaced, and to preserve quality it was kept as interlaced.

Time Travel Consecution, Episode 4
This was absolutely hilarious, and narratively sound. The police surrendering to coked up terminator who left his pants in the future was definitely a highlight.

Had I viewed this in sequence, it might have worked better, taking the piss outta the adjoining shorts, if you life.
Probably not, though.
I’m not a keen enthusiast of trailer parks, white trash, low brow comedy.
Get too much of that on the news, from our beloved celebrities, increasingly from those in charge. Politics, the office, barnyard.
Trying to mash T2 with Reno 911 never worked for an instant with me.
With each new scene, I was reminded of “Robots Vs Kung Fu” and how whip smart that was.
And wasn’t mgh working on a sequel? What do I know.
Anyway, nothing about this short worked for me.
Reno 911 fans, on the other hand, may find this irresistible.
