Faneditor Q2 combines both parts of The Deathly Hallows into one epic finale

q2_harrypotter_bannerFans were somewhat confused when Warner Bros. announced that the final book of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series would be presented as a two-part film. Although it initially seemed like an obvious last-ditch cash-grab, the two-part finale was generally very well received. Still, at over 4.5 hours, the finale requires a big chunk of time to digest. In The Deathly Hallows, we find Harry Potter, who has been pursued by Lord Voldemort. Unable to hide any longer, Harry goes in search of the Horcruxes—powerful objects that contain portions of Voldemort’s soul. Only by destroying them can Harry stop the one responsible for his parents’ deaths. The number of cuts needed to bring the pair of films down to a slim 190 minutes is too great to list, but some of the larger sections removed include:

  • Hermoine erasing her parents memory
  • The romance between Ron and Hermoine
  • Harry’s wand being broken
  • and the epilogue
