Cuts and Additions:
The Wolfman (2010)
1. created new opening and closing titles
2. aged audio/video
3. removed several charachters from the film to move the story along in the alloted time (18mins)
4. removed as much cgi/flashy camera movement shots as possible
5. when Lawrence first transforms into the wolfman, i edited several of his attack scenes into one combined sequence
6. There was some problematic audio during the scene where the Wolfman attacks the puppet show, i did the best i could to have this audio match up with the rest, its quite close i think.
7. alternate ending (in a manner of speaking)

The Wolfman (1941)
This edit is based on a review of an actual super 8 digest of the film, i tried to get it to
match what the review described as much as possible.
I cropped/reframed the image to 16/9 animorphic and applied a sepia tone and gave it a super 8 look.
The credits in the movie could not be cropped/reframed to 16/9 properly so
i crafted new ones inspired by the original credits. I removed a few
refrences to the charachter Bela since he is not in this edit, but i left his name in the credits.

Atom Age Wolfman (The Mad Monster(1942), Dead Men Walk(1943))
1. when making this edit, i tried to imagine how a super 8 enthusiast might go about making a fanedit with the equipment at hand (not a computer), i roughly cut in new titles that resemble home painted title card’s. These movies were not of the best quality so i did my best with what i had.
2. cropped/reframed to 16/9
2. added parts of the opening monlogue from Dead Men Walk
3. cut pretty much all of the secondary charachters and only kept scenes of the wolfman doing wolfman stuff
4. tried to focus on the unintentional humor this movie has
5. alternate ending

I cannot believe that I never got round to rating this! Neglify’s views mirror my own, so I shall give it a 10 too. This edit is highly recommended.

A very nice collection of edits.

Although, to me, the primary goal (and also the fun) of those super 8 edits Rogue is now known for is to turn recent movies into old looking super 8 cuts. So the 2010 movie is, to me, the real interesting edit of the three. Not to say the other 2 are not good, but the old look of the 2010 movie is so well done that it stole the show. Bravo.

I already want the next super 8 edit by Rogue!

Admittedly, I skipped the 2nd movie. But this sort of Cliff’s Notes version of these was a lot of fun.

Mostly, I really enjoyed the 1941 The Wolfman. Everything important was condensed perfectly; it had a great setup and a strong finale.

For the 2010 version, I think you proved that, even with that movie’s terrific visuals, nothing can make that movie work. The characters are NOT engaging, the pacing is slow, and there’s no one to care about. But none of that is your fault. Again, the way you boiled it down was really well done.

I’d've liked to have seen a DIFFERENT b&w/scratched film effect on the 2010 version, as seeing that it had the same scratches and pops in the SAME places was weird and a little distracting, but it was just all in good fun. So nice work!

I originally rated this a 9/10 when I watched the MKVs of the 3 main edits. I rewatched all the edits on DVD, including the bonus edits.

This is a fantastic set of edits. They’re loads of fun for horror fans and I can’t recommend this edit enough. It was great seeing Wolfman movies from different eras of filmmaking (40s, 70s, 2010s) all made to look like they were made around the same time.

FANEDIT RATING – 10
Audio/Video Quality – 10
Visual Editing – 10
Audio Editing – 10
Degree of Editing – 10

(NOTE: “Degree of Editing” is a 100% arbitrary rating that I keep in mind when reviewing edits. This is not meant to insinuate that a faneditor is lazy or not. Some fanedits require a lot more work than others and I take this into account.)

MOVIE RATING – 9
Narrative – 8
Enjoyment – 10
