Brief Synopsis:
SEELE battles NERV to initiate third impact in the groundbreaking conclusion to the original "Neon Genesis: Evangelion" in a way you've never seen before!
Intention:
The final two episodes of "Neon Genesis: Evangelion" and the follow-up movie "The End of Evangelion" are still hotly contested conclusions to a popular franchise over 20 years later. I've always wanted to see a version that combines the two in a single film since the episodes show what's happening in Shinji's mind during instrumentality while the movie shows what's happening in reality.

This is an edited I've wanted to do for years but I only had the original DVD's from the mid-90's, not even the Platinum re-release. Now that a Blu-ray version was finally released in the US I decided to tackle it.

The video edits go seamlessly between the original film and the final episodes of the series. There were only a couple of moments where the audio changed in a slightly obvious way; apart from these, the score was greatly balanced and well-integrated.

Experiencing this again is… perplexing and awe-inspiring at the same time. The story is a work of art, a masterpiece that will never get old.

(spoilers follow...)

I can say, this is for sure the right way to watch the finale. The randomness, craziness and raw emotion happening inside Shinji’s mind is now brilliantly contrasted with the grand, planetwide phenomenon resulting from Instrumentality. For any fan of the original, this is absolutely recommended.

“Anywhere can be paradise as long as you have the will to live. After all, you are alive, so you will always have the chance to be happy. As long as the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be all right.”
