Brief Synopsis:
Using all the deleted scenes, re-arranging some material and deleting other material, we refocus the story on John Constantine.
Intention:
I don’t consider CONSTANTINE a flawed film. But there were a lot of deleted scenes and some elements that I thought we could lose to focus the film more on John. Also the character of Ellie (who ended up in the deleted scenes) is now fully explored.

Is Hellblazer superior to the original Constantine? Yes
Do I recommend it? No

The video quality is too low and even the AI Upscale program didn't help, the added scenes don't match the color of the original scenes, and some of the added OSTs are clearly noticeable.
While the story works better when you focus it on Constantine I prefer the slower-paced movie with high-quality.

Big fan of the original, so I really enjoyed this cut, adding all the Michelle Monaghan deleted scenes was a very smart move. Also liked the Evanescence tracks, even if they were a little over the top sometimes. Also love the new beginning in the hospital instead of Mexico.
Very good edit, I recommend it strongly.

I liked the original film, even if it was somewhat Americanised, Constantine, in the comics being a tough, street-wise working class Brit -- part of what makes him stand out from the crowd of more genteel occult detectives, of whom Dr Strange is a modern variant. Plus, I also like Keanu Reeves' pre-John Wick stuff quite a bit, although he's admittedly not the greatest actor in the world: I'd put "Bram Stoker's Dracula," "Johnny Mnemonic," the first "Matrix," and "The Devil's Advocate" on my shelf any day (although I do draw the line at "The Day the Earth Stood Still"!).

So, I watched the "Hellblazer" fanedit more out of interest, rather than due to any disappointment with the original "Constantine." Overall, I thought the fanedit was really great! My only quibble would be the visual quality of the copy I had: perhaps I have been spoiled by Blurays and high quality movies in *.mkv containers, and we sometimes forget how low grade some deleted scenes on DVDs have been, but I was really distracted by the picture quality, which was generally worse than the DVD I have of the film (and moreso in some deleted scenes). I cannot say whether the DVD release by the editor was better than the 1.5 gb *.avi I got, but what I had was quite bad and quite distracting.

In short: loved the edit and would recommend, but wish I saw a higher quality release.

I rather enjoyed this edit. While the video quality wasn't very good (even accounting for the fact it's from a DVD), the narrative and audio make up for it.

A/V Quality - Audio was great! The video however was pixelated in certain parts and I noticed combing throughout the whole movie. Watchable but annoying.

Visual Editing - Great!

Audio Editing - Great as well!

Narrative - I loved how this was re-ordered. It really worked. I liked that the scavenger with the spear is saved for the third act. And for the most part the addition of the deleted scenes worked for me as well. I hated that Ellie was cut, for the most part, from the theatrical release. I did find myself being pulled out of the experience on a couple of occasions. The added taxi scenes in the beginning were obviously not the same car so it messed with the continuity. In the bowling alley scene with Chas and John, the song Going Under just seemed out of place to me. The only other time in the film a song with lyrics is used is at Midnite's and it makes sense because it's a club. I would have rather heard more of the film's score which was used beautifully overtop of some of the other deleted scenes. The montage before the Ellie bed scene didn't seem to fit either even though I did get a chuckle out of the bump ahead sign. The addition of Ellie at Midnite's didn't work for me at all. I thought the subtitles was a great idea to fix the repetition of the earlier bed scene, but the dialogue just didn't work with the added British-ness to it. The deleted scenes at the end with Ellie at the hospital and John at Chas' grave were perfect!

Enjoyment - Despite the video quality and the occasional instance of being pulled away from the movie, I did enjoy this edit.

Thank you Jorge! :]X
