This is a more grown-up version of 13 GOING ON 30. A lot of kiddie humor and embarrassing moments were removed, the heartwarming atmosphere and overall fun kept for a sweet romantic comedy that is well worth watching.
Intention:
“13 going on 30″ was a sweet and nice comedy. However, it was somewhat spoiled by dumb jokes, flat humor and a story that was not tight enough. Our edit tries to correct that and make a more grown-up version out of this film, reduce the lengthes and keep the heartwarming atmosphere.

Cuts and Additions:
removed Jenna flirting with the kid
removed several dumb jokes, like the one where Jenna throws away the fruits from her cocktails.
removed Matty calling after jenna, when she says “I am not 13 anymore”. Matty should keep his dignity.
removed the bureau affair
removed the presentations for the new POISE magazine. They are just not needed and rather distracting.
added jenna meeting the chief editor from Sparkle
added Jenna taking advice from a little girlfriend
removed the taxi scene

This was an absolutely fantastic cut, from top to bottom. The story is beautifully streamlined, the removed scenes lifted out so well that I can't even tell you where they were supposed to be, and the deleted scenes put back in so well that they feel very natural.
I gave the audio and video nine out of ten because the deleted scenes could've been re-colored and smoothed out to better match the film, and because in one of them, the music overwhelms the audio a tiny bit, but it doesn't distract too much from the film. Overall, I feel that this could be shown to someone who had never seen the original- or to someone who hasn't seen the original in a very long time- and they wouldn't be able to tell that it's a fan edit at all, which makes it a quite superior fan edit indeed.
Great cut of a great movie. I recommend it to any beginner fan editors who want to learn about the craft. Two thumbs up!

I enjoyed this. At least, I enjoyed it as much as the source material would allow, which wasn’t too bad I suppose. 13 Going On 30 is always going to be what it is, a silly comedy aimed at a younger crowd, but this went a long way towards improving that. Just a simple peek at the “deleted scene” of Jenna trying to flirt with that kid… I couldn’t even sit through it, thank you for sparing us. Other than the quality of the deleted scenes that were added back in, the editing was invisible. Great work.
