We explore one possible road to mankind's first encounter with extraterrestial life. Curiosity and the scientific method clash with fear, religion, and greed. Along the way everyone's beliefs are tested. The film is a tribute to Carl Sagan who spent his life popularizing scientific inquiry, who tirelessly championed the search for extraterrestial life, and who stimulated the awe and sense of wonder in all of us. The edit is about Dr. Arroway's personal journey more than mankind's journey. Her perseverance against the odds and despite resistance. Palmer Joss, the alien, and Mr. Kitz are less frustrating, and the last quarter of the film is greatly improved. As epilogue Dr. Sagan himself talks about Contact, science, and religion (audio excerpt from 1985 Studs Terkel interview).

The third and final installment of my “Arkenstone” edit trilogy. Like before, I’ve tried to keep the focus as much as possible on Bilbo, Thorin and Gandalf, while still giving the various side characters their moments to shine, without drawing attention away from the main story.

Order of the Phoenix is actually one of my favorite HP movies, alongside Prisoner of Azkaban. The movie is fast-paced, often intense, and it has big stakes for our characters. I think the movie’s biggest flaw is its feeling of complete dissonence from the rest of the series, feeling much less like a Harry Potter movie and much more like a drama/thriller piece. Therefore, my biggest priority has been to establish a greater connection between this and the rest of the series - including remastered versions (by myself) for Voldemort’s Theme, A Window to the Past, Hogwart’s Theme, Neville’s (upcoming DH) theme, Gilderoy Lockhart’s Theme (now more of a Dark Arts Class theme), Quidditch Theme and more.

The movie has also been color graded to remove the heavy reliance on blue, as well inclusion of two deleted scenes, removal of Filch as an idiot and a lot of new SFX and even new scenes.

1) 13 episodes instead of 18.
2) Marginalize or exclude new "Not twin peaks characters".
3) Bring the colors to the original, golden filmic experience, simulating the fujifilm used in the first two seasons (and not the flat digital arrialexa used for the third).
4) Rescoring, using Soundtracks from the original show (Total music added: 2h.18m).
5) Not anymore "green glove", and so different killing of Bob.
6) Less digital old style Computer graphics.

Knowing how many different takes there are on The Phantom Menace - and has been since 1999 (!), what stood out for me very clear since the beginning, apart from a bunch of what I thought were brilliant ideas that could work - was to make it different. Not make it a Fanedit, but a FanFix - more of a remake, if you will. Only then could it actually be worth many years of my time.

I grew up with the love of Star Wars and the excitement around The Phantom Menace and the prequel trilogy, but I never felt the magic stay with me for The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones (and to a degree RotS as well) as it did with the Original Trilogy. This was the red herring that made me interested in the creation and intellectual process behind the making of TPM, that made me realize the lost potential and go for a search on how to make it work. And thus The Ancient Lore was born.

The author of Lean on Pete, Willy Vlautin is not only an incredible writer, he is also the front man and guitarist of one of the finest Americana bands of the last twenty years. It is almost a crime that his music in the film adaptations of Willy's novels is often relegated to the end credits. Although some of the original score by James Edward Barker remains i wanted to highlight Richmond Fontaine's music and bring it to the forefront.

The Room has always provided a good time for those who are wiling to sit through it. But for those who don't want to experience 3 consecutive sex scenes in the first 3o minutes, I have cut all sections of this movie that could deemed 'NSFW'. So this cut is less focused on 'fixing' The Room, and more on making it ok to watch with friends and family. This isn't a total 'PG' cut, (there is still plenty of swearing, and the plot, however little there is, is still focused on infidelity), just a minor re-tooling to make it more approachable for those who want to join in on the fun.

This project takes the Criterion blu-ray for Orson Welles' 1968 film 'The Immortal Story' and conforms it frame-by-frame to the longer cut, blending in the missing 4-minutes of footage, re-framing every shot and attempting to upscale and grade it to match.

This is a fanedit which focuses only on the Frank TJ Mackey storyline.

This edit takes the HD transfer on the 'Ultimate Director's Cut' blu-ray and goes in and fixes, alters, or replaces every single changed shot to "Reconstruct" the original 'Theatrical Cut' in almost the same HD quality. So we can once again enjoy the film the way it was meant to be seen 1979, without compromising on visual quality.

This is the second entry in the "B+ Movie Project", a series of edits that seek to improve on older films, while still maintaining the charm and narrative of the original cut. #2 happens to be another Jack Arnold film, and similarly to Creature from the Black Lagoon, this has had a lot of chaff removed. I’ve tried to strike a balance between promptly setting things up and improving the pacing, while also maintaining some of the atmosphere in the latter half of the film, where the tone starts to become more philosophical.

This edit comes with two audio options:

- B+ Narrative (default) – heavily trimmed narration. Anything that I felt was too pretentious or didn’t add anything is removed and rescored.
- Purist Narrative – lightly trimmed narration. The original voice-over has been preserved as much as possible, with some compromise being made due to the streamlined nature of the edit.

Evil Cooper, also known as Mr. C, continues to search for the coordinates he so desperately seeks, coordinates that will lead him to the fabled entity known as Judy.

Part III combines and trims episodes 8 - 12.

Cooper has escaped the Lodge but now is living the life of his double Dougie Jones. Unable to communicate or do more than simple tasks, Cooper must navigate the complex world Dougie was living.

Part II combines and trims episodes 4 - 7.

So, after my first edit, The Return of Sherlock and a month of experience, I have decided to make the sequel. I feel that this edit focuses on Sherlock, John, and of course Mary.

Inspired by Zarius' The Little that Remains edit and Rangerkris' fan edit of the Moriarty arc form season 1 & 2, I have decided to make an edit of the season 3 of my favorite TV show. I feel that this edit focuses on John and Sherlock and how their relationship is repaired, and eventually have an “ongoing” happy ending.

The original 160-minute 'Theatrical Cut' of 'Amadeus' that won multiple Oscars and BAFTAs in 1984 only exists on an old poor quality 1998 PAL "flipper" DVD (and Laserdisc and VHS). Every release since then (including all blu-rays) has been the 180-minute 'Director's Cut'. I simply wanted to cut the DC blu-ray to match the TC DVD, so I have both cuts as an option.

The story is entirely a figment of the Polish prostitute ('Lost Girl') who removed the trauma of an abortion and is held prisoner by the guilt of a homicide which she feels responsible for (the wife of her lover). A sinking, a descent into hell (apparently) inevitable.

The 1974 television series, using the episodes " Escape From Tomorrow", "The Legacy" and "The Trap", recut into a movie that now fits into the original movie series continuity.

Now that we're getting close to 18 unseen hours of Twin Peaks, I've decided to release my extended edit of 'Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me', reintegrating some of my favorite deleted scenes back into the film. I know it's been done before but this edit only integrates scenes that IMO shouldn't have been cut in the first place. This is a very debatable topic among fans so I'm expecting a lot of disagreements, but anyway, this is a personal project of mine I've decided to share.

'John Wick: Point Blank Cut' is black & white with new simple credits for a more classic "timeless" feel. Every bit of dialogue that wasn't needed to advance the plot and inform character is gone, so the gaps between the action sequences are minimal. The Perkins/Marcus/Henry subplot is removed from the last act, to stay focused on John. The flashback/forward framing device is gone, it's all linear.

The two final installments in the Hunger Games franchise put together to conclude Katniss' story in an epic and emotional finale that defies blockbuster convention. This edit takes out a lot of footage from the original films, but always in a way that allows the story to flow in a consistent way, while preserving the themes that made this franchise so popular.

The Walking Dead: Days Gone Bye' takes Season 1 of The Walking Dead and condenses the story down into a 2 and a half hour film, trimming down the filler and speeding up the pace of the story.

This edit depicts the events of Pulp Fiction in chronological order. To achieve one continuous timeline, temporal redundancies had to be avoided by merging those scenes together. The movie now structures as follows: Butch's childhood memories - Title sequence - The Bonnie Situation - Vincent Vega and Marsellus Wallace's Wife - The Gold Watch - Credits.

'Man of Tomorrow' is a narrative experiment that combines Man of Steel and Batman V. Superman into one film. The goal was to use material from both films to form a single, feature-length, 3-act structure that focuses on Superman.

The Great(er) Gatsby replaces all the modern background music which caused the film much infamy with more appropriate Jazz and Classical music. 4 deleted scenes have also been restored into the film to make it closer to the book.

The Godfather Part II Extended Edition follows my extended edition of part 1. The films are presented seprately with the originial credits and scene placement intact. My edit of part II is unique because it retains the non chronolgical timeline of the film the way the filmakers intended. All known footage has been added in highest quality availble.

In 1999, David Lynch created a pilot for ABC that they rejected. For nearly 20 years the pilot version of Mulholland Drive has been hard to come by and in poor quality due to the VHS source. This fanedit aims to re-create the pilot as closely as possible utilizing an HD source. Now you can experience the masterpiece as it originally was, a historical look into what ultimately became one of the best films of all time.

While every effort has been made to recreate the pilot as it was, due to the limitations of what is available on the officially released version of the film an exact recreation was not possible.

Key Improvements and Changes:
Improved character performances (Katniss' emotional breakdowns largely cut, Gale relationship moments cut)
Improved narrative including powerful and exciting new beginning and more emotional thought provoking ending
Altered score allowing for new scenes and transitions that would otherwise not be possible including new Hanging Tree track
171 minute runtime (goal was 160 minutes, catching fire runtime was 146 minutes)

Transcendence: Avid4D Recut presents a non-linear approach to the movie. Character motives and intentions are not immediately clear, and the film will jump back and forth providing the viewer information in pieces. This version is aimed at the first time viewer, as those who have seen the theatrical version will know what happens. In addition to the non-linear story telling, selected scenes have an "aspect perspective" effect in an attempt to mess with the viewer's mind even further!

'The Return of Don Tracy' is a side-by-side "Remix" of 1949's 'Criss Cross' and Soderbergh's own 1995 remake 'The Underneath', set to a new Pop soundtrack.

This edit updates and refines Dennis Gansel's 2010 movie, We Are The Night. The visual effects and sound mix have been enhanced, several deleted scenes have been reinserted, and weak plot points, dialogue, and pacing have been trimmed. The ending has also been changed to provide a more coherent and satisfying conclusion to the story.

The Buffy saga continues, now it's time for season 4 of one of my most favourite TV shows ever to be turned into movies. For this seaosn they are four movies, every one with a story arc that makes sense as a movie and that interweaves into a greater whole. I also used the opportunity to improve the story and characters.

Many, many small lines of dialogue have been removed throughout, mostly without shortening scenes at all. I felt Rocky was just not respected in the theatrical version and I wanted to remedy that.
