I grew up on The Last Starfighter. It is a wonderfully fun and entertaining film. However, it is not free of problems. It drags a bit here and there. Mainly, I wanted to keep the story focused on Alex and keep the tension and threat focused there. Mainly, the subplot with the Beta Unit has been mostly removed. I felt this would better focus the story on Alex and keep the tension up (although removing anything with Catherine Mary Stewart is heartbreaking!).

The Final Countdown. This is one of those forgotten gems from the 80's. It is a great film, with a simple idea, that is pulled off quite well. However, the film is bogged down with excessive shots and sequences showcasing the Navy. This is a version of the film with the bulk of those scenes either cut or trimmed down, as well as some other bits here and there.

When I first saw the film, I enjoyed its bizarre energy and lack of self-awareness: it's a spectacle of misguided creativity (and a bit of a train wreck). However, the film regularly sags at certain points by becoming repetitive or confusing, which dilutes that enjoyment. By tightening it in this manner, I think it retains its momentum much better than the original.

I've removed the confusing "III" from the title & cut out the out-of-place romance. I've also removed Halloween from playing on TV, making it possible that this one exists in the world of the other Halloween films.... Somehow.

I'm a big Terminator franchise fan and I have collected my favorite edits of T1, T2 and Dark Fate.
I have yet to find what I would call the definitive version of Salvation, and I couldn't care less about finding a good version of Genisys.
But Terminator 3, I like it but it certainly has it's flaws, quite a few flaws. The best edit I have found is "The Coming Storm" by @Uncanny Antman. The only problem with it is that it is only DVD quality. I have found 1 or 2 others that claim to be HD versions, but they are not the same, or even close to the same. So I am attempting to do it myself.

A story about Princess Shuri and her struggle to deal with the loss of family. The theatrical release fell over itself to tell multiple stories about multiple characters, this edit reduces the focus on other characters and remains fixed on Shuri and Namor.

Let's face it, this is not a good movie, it's pretty bad. But that being said, I do like to watch it as part of my Die Hard rewatches. Why? I'm not sure, maybe I like to torture myself. But it does have some good action. The car chase scene is really good. The extended cut adds more action, which is cool, but it also removes all of Lucy, his daughter. Why they did that I have no idea. What little heart the theatrical version had was gone in the extended version.

Batman '89 was/is a pretty solid film, but it does not get Bruce Wayne quite right, in my opinion. Also, the film itself does drag a bit. Therefore, I wanted to see if a slimmed down version of the film would play better than the original. In my opinion, it does.

Generally speaking, I love Logan's Run as it is. However, it does have some pacing issues as well as some logic issues that I really wanted to address. I believe this edit tightens up the film and makes for a faster and more consistent experience, while also removing some of the cringe (just a few things).

This is Luc Besson's "Leon" re-framed to be more Mathilda-centric, with Leon's story revealed more slowly, but also in a more ambiguous way. What brought him to this moment? You decide. Featuring many songs from the 80's and 90's, and leaning heavily into female vocalists, the soundscape taps onto Mathilda's motivations and emotional states at key moments in the story.

Live Free or Die Hard is my second favorite Die Hard movie (behind the original, of course). For most it is probably Die Hard - With A Vengeance, which I also love, but I have always enjoyed Live Free (except for one scene, the F35 scene).

For me it goes;
Die Hard – A nearly perfect movie.
Live Free – Slightly flawed, but I enjoy.
With a Vengeance – Nearly perfect.
Die Hard 2 – A good (but not great) action movie, with no glaring flaw that can be fixed by an edit and doesn’t necessarily need it anyway.
A Good Day to – Very flawed and just not a good movie at all. I already did an edit of it, trying to make it at least tolerable as part of a rewatch.
But back to the point of this post, Live Free or Die Hard. This edit uses the unrated version as the base and adds back in most of (if not all) that was removed from the theatrical to make the unrated version. The only things that were not added back are the lines that were directly replaced with a new line. And the biggest changes are to the F35 scene near the end.

White Water Summer was a solid piece of 80's escapist fun. However, it was painfully undercut by the insertion of cuts scenes and narration by Sean Astin that frame the events of the film as a flashback. The sole intention of this edit was to remove these cuts scenes and narration and to allow the film to play out in a linear fashion without the interruption of these intrusive moments.

A wandering gunfighter plays two rival families against each other in a town torn apart by greed, pride, and revenge.

"Uh-huh-huh, hey Beavis, these effects aren't so special..."

The purpose of this edit is to improve the low budget, outdated VFX so it still feels like a 1984 Terminator movie, but the laughable moments like painfully obvious Schwarzenegger mannequins and choppy stop motion animation are fixed.

This edit does not change the film's narrative or add deleted scenes.

My latest Hitchcock "micro-edit" -- while there's two widely available cuts of Strangers on a Train, the early preview edition (erroneously called the "British cut") and the theatrical edition (the "Hollywood cut"), neither reflected Hitchcock's preferred choice for the ending, which would end with the line "a very clever fellow" instead of the Warner Bros-demanded coda with the supporting characters. I've used the theatrical cut as the basis to restore Hitch's preferred ending.

This is a refined fanfix of Steven Soderbergh's "Unsane" that is more fully committed to the question at the centre of the film - is Sawyer delusional, or is her stalker working at the healthcare facility where she is being held for observation? This is achieved primarily by sticking to Sawyer's point of view wherever possible.

To make the movie more accessible I added traditional orchestral music (from the soundtrack of 'Spellbound' by Miklós Rózsa), and removed most of the 'electronic tonalities'.

The next in my series of Hitchcock micro-edits, "Marnie: The Evan Hunter Cut" is an attempt to showcase the 1964 Sean Connery/Tippi Hedren thriller without the sexual assault scene between the two married lead characters which appeared in the source material, to which original screenwriter Evan Hunter (aka crime novelist Ed McBain) objected.

Hitchcock insisted upon including the scene, saying "Evan, when he sticks it in her, I want that camera right on her face."

Hunter pleaded with Hitchcock not to use that scene, which lead to Hunter's dismissal from continued work on the film.

Although Hunter is no longer credited as the screenwriter on the finished film, I was nevertheless curious to see how this still-controversial and divisive Hitchcock classic played without that particular scene.

Halloween Ends Revisited: The Final Cut is the first of a planned four-part series focusing on the storyline established in the H40 trilogy, starting with Halloween (2018). Although I loved Halloween Ends when it came out and it satisfied me in its intended aim, I can still see the flaws that a lot of people have problems with. With that in mind, I took the time to cut 20+ minutes of footage, replace one sequence, extend another sequence, and recolor the entire film to present a hopefully more enjoyable version of this divisive film.

Serving as a continuation to The Last Jedi - Consistency Edition, this edit modifies The Rise of Skywalker to be a more fulfilling end to the trilogy by smoothing out the plot, removing convoluted elements, and modifying aspects of the film to elevate the story.

As a longtime Sonic fan, I thought it was an ok movie that could've been better with more references to the classic games, a less funny villain, and the main character with a more "rock n'roll" attitude. This edit was primarily aimed at getting rid of most of the "Careyims," as I call Jim Carrey's overacting. If you pay attention, Robotnik has a more malevolent and sinister side in the script that was buried because of Jim Carrey's over the top persona. Robotnik is now more sinister, most of the film's songs have been replaced, and various sound effects from the classic Sega games have been used.

THE CLONE WARS: REFOCUSED presents the entire Clone Wars as a complete series of five seasons of about ten TV-length episodes each. Now structured and presented with the conventions of a more mature modern TV drama, it tells the complete narrative of the Clone Wars, retaining all the most important and enjoyable elements of the show, whilst trimming a vast amount of the weaker content, saving you over 17 hours total while still telling the same core narratives. Episodes have been refined, refocused, reordered and recontextualised to maximise story quality and viewer enjoyment, both for the show’s own complete end-to-end story, and for those seeking a supplement or introduction to new canon like the Mandalorian, Bad Batch, and wider Filoniverse.

I watched Interstellar and wondered if the movie could be done without the time travel aspect where one man saves the world by becoming a poltergeist.



So that's exactly what I did. Painstakingly. There are two versions. A dark and a light cut. The Dark cut ends without the ending we all know and the Light cut follows the original movie more closely, but removes all the paradoxes.

Live and Let Die, the Goldilocks version: tempo is dialed up (no more looking at your watch during the boat race), jokes and stupidity are dialed down, Bondgirls are less bumbling, sheriff is mostly removed, and nobody pops like a balloon.

Eon Returns is an edit of Ben 10,000 Returns that keeps Ben’s future unknown by establishing Ben 10,000 as another alternate future version of Ben, while also providing small hints to Eon’s identity earlier in the episode.

I was always intrigued by Legend, but it wasn’t until the lost Director’s Cut was released on Blu-ray in 2011 that I decided to finally sit down and watch it. After watching the different versions of the film, I thought the Director's Cut was the best of the bunch, but felt like it was hampered by some of the pacing/editing and childish humor. With that in mind, I set out to make an edit that used addressed some of those issues, while including specific scenes from each version to hopefully create a more tonally consistent, polished film.

While an enduring cult classic, the original Tron film suffers from a critical pacing issue in its opening act. Cutting between the world of the Grid and the real world only serves to alienate new viewers and confuses the internal logic of the story. By removing the first 8(ish) minutes, the plot is not only clearer, but gets going much faster and with fewer distractions.

Ben 10: Race Against Time - Armageddon Edition is my attempt to improve the first live action Ben 10 movie. The film has its good moments but unfortunately they are overshadowed by some glaring flaws. Overall this edit aims to give a better cartoon to live action experience by removing the cringe and weird moments. Bringing it closer to the tone of the original series.

This is vastly different than the original cut. We have a new opening to recap the ending of Part 1 and a subsequent scene not seen in Part 1. The tone is less cartoonish and more balanced. There is a lot of new music and deleted material used to flesh out the movie. Much like Part 1 this has the focus on Peter and Gwen's relationship without all the other distractions.

Electro is pushed back to a secondary villain and Harry is brought up to being the primary villain. Electro's motivation is different as well. The accident simply drove him insane and he hears voices in his head.

As Scott Lang tries to spend the last of his days under house arrest, he's pulled into action once more by Hank Pym and Hope Van-Dyne as they team up and suit up to save someone from the Quantum Realm, while fighting a new adversery.

This edit aims to trim up a lot of ill-timed and poorly elongated jokes, adding back deleted material from the blu-ray, outtakes, trailers and TV spots, while also restoring an alternate opening with a mission in 1987, with a young Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Strap in, and get ready to see ANT-MAN AND THE WASP against THE GHOST IN THE MACHINE!

A reserved fanedit that shows just how much fun you can have when you’re not stopping for a quip or applause shot every five seconds.

Episodes from the 25 best arcs (+2 standalone episodes) are combined to create 27 longer episodes (~40-60m) each presenting a complete, streamlined story without redundant, uninteresting side quests, goofy villains, or childish humor.

This cut rearranges the scene order to tell a thought provoking, subtle, compelling story. The result is more of a slow burn-- with gradually escalating conflict (and a little less Hannibal).

This edit focuses on the events of 1912, keeps Rose's narration, and uses the full IMAX aspect ratio throughout. Modern scenes/characters are reduced to an absolute bare minimum. This cut also incorporates limited deleted/extended scenes but only those which further character development of Rose, Jack, and Fabrizio (or otherwise gives better dramatic impact to their scenes).

After getting out of prison, burgler Scott Lang tries to reconnect with his daughter, as his ex-wife tries to keep him away. A desperate robbery gone askew puts him the radar of redacted government scientist Hank Pym, leading him down a path he could of never expected.

This is a tighter version of the film, cutting all of Hank's scenes until Scott meets him, as the film refocuses on his story and the journey he goes through to reunite with Cassie. A new deleted introduction to Hank has been reinserted into the film, other small elements have been cut, and one big infiltration sequence with an unneeded cameo has been entirely removed.

This is a relatively light edit of "Sonic the Hedgehog" that trims some of the humor that didn't land for me and replaces some of the pop music with music from the video game series where appropriate. I hope fans of the movie and game series enjoy this!

The fifth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise follows a teenage Tommy Jarvis (John Shepherd), who still suffers from nightmares of the mass murderer Jason Voorhees—whom he killed as a child—and is institutionalized at a halfway house near Crystal Lake. However, Tommy has to face his fears when a new hockey-masked killer begins another series of violent murders.

Kidjupiter92 presents his definitive edition of the fifth installment of the Friday the 13th franchise.

This version has a much shorter pre-tite sequence (with a 'bloody' gun barrel), and in the end, Bond isn't poisoned and doesn't die.

I almost fell asleep watching the original version. The pace is very uneven and the film is too long to keep your attention. This edit makes it more to the point.
