This is Spicediver's 1080p high definition rebuild of Dune The Alternative Edition Redux, his 2012 fanedit (in 480 standard definition) of David Lynch's 1984 science fiction film.

Although there are a number of fairly major changes from Godfather III to The Godfather Epilogue, many of the cuts, redubs and rearranged scenes are relatively small refinements; the kind of polishing that the writers, director and editors might have made themselves given more time.

This is the 480p standard definition edition of my Dune edit, completed in July 2012. A film that’s been admired, hated and puzzled-over in fairly equal amounts, writer/director David Lynch’s ambitious 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel gets an extensive fanediting treatment in Dune The Alternative Edition Redux. This is my third and final cut of an edit I first released in 2008 and again in 2009. As previously, it draws on the heavily cut Theatrical Version, the controversial Extended “TV” Version and a selection of Deleted Scenes and soundtrack cues.

A reworking of EXORCIST III in line with LEGION, the low key and more character-driven film that William Peter Blatty originally shot before studio-enforced reshoots and renaming. This edit restores the original cut's story arc, sans exorcist and exorcism, and includes a recreation of the original ending as described by Blatty.
