Damn, this is good. The comic is overly political, and original release of this was a mess.
This is focused. I like all the extra artistic choices here the few times it takes things out that were in the comic, but all for good reason. Pacing is EXCELLENT here, keeping the overall focus on Batman's journey. Things that were distracting are removed, and a more tortured Bruce is revealed that is closer to the comic source. Also, the Book structure format is great, keeping the plotlines paced well for interest. Carrie's parent's as over caricatures of liberals hasn't aged well, but the rest feels very in line with BTAS, which I will always love. Dark as hell, in the best way.
This edit of the DC Original Movie(s) is the definitive adaption of Frank Miller's work. If you love the original, this is 100% what you want, As a perk, the more source-accurate 30 min increments have the added bonus of not taking too much time, if you are short of it (like me, ha).
By far the definitive version of TDKR movies. The only small gripe is the "NO MORE" line from Batman fighting Joker is still in the fanedit, but for the most part, it removes every one of the superfluous flaws from the movies that I had problems with. Highly recommend this fanedit, and this will be my go-to from now on.
This. This is what I was expecting to get when I purchased the original two-part DVD set. This flows well, removes some pacing issues, and makes the whole story both darker and more engaging. A fitting companion piece to the original graphic novel!
