Care was taken to cut as little as possible to achieve these goals. Where possible, excessive screams were silenced without cutting frames.

My main problem with 'Blade Runner 2049' was the insanely slow pace of the editing/cutting. Every line had a vast gap after it and every shot lingered for too long, even if nothing whatsoever was happening in the shot and the camera was motionless. I love long movies but when a film is nearly 3-hours, careless and lax editing is a crime. It's like they assembled all the footage and forgot to go through and tighten everything up like a good editor should. So I was interested in making a cut of this film that focused (almost) entirely on improving the pace of the cuts. The same film/experience but edited properly. An experiment in doing a fanedit that doesn't actually remove anything!

This is the second entry in the "B+ Movie Project", a series of edits that seek to improve on older films, while still maintaining the charm and narrative of the original cut. #2 happens to be another Jack Arnold film, and similarly to Creature from the Black Lagoon, this has had a lot of chaff removed. I’ve tried to strike a balance between promptly setting things up and improving the pacing, while also maintaining some of the atmosphere in the latter half of the film, where the tone starts to become more philosophical.
This edit comes with two audio options:
- B+ Narrative (default) – heavily trimmed narration. Anything that I felt was too pretentious or didn’t add anything is removed and rescored.
- Purist Narrative – lightly trimmed narration. The original voice-over has been preserved as much as possible, with some compromise being made due to the streamlined nature of the edit.

I'm a big fan of Tim Krabbe's horror novel The Golden Egg and George Sluizer's 1988 movie adaptation Spoorloos. That shocking ending gave me nightmares for weeks. The 1993 American remake didn't work. The story is too blunt and tragic for the Hollywood standards, and to change that is to kill the most terrifying aspect of the film. I do think the US version has a lot going for it tho. Jeff Bridges is completely terrifying and Kiefer is a more likeable lead (which would make the character's fate even more painful to watch).
That's why I decided to recut the film, removing the dumb changes and preserving the essence of the story and its terrifying conclusion. I'm pretty sure it's been done before, but I decided to do my own version and share it with whoever might be interested.

This is a very light edit of one of my favourite Christmas films. I’m a big Muppets fan and I tend to watch this nearly every year (as well as reading the Dickens novella). However, watching it on a yearly basis, the same things always bothered me: The odd cliché line, overly kiddish element, and more than anything, "The Penguin's Christmas Skating Party"; a corny scene that dragged and generally felt like it was only there for the sake of placing penguins in a Christmas movie.

GotG2: Pruned Edition is about 16 minutes shorter than the official film. It's a respectful effort to streamline an enjoyable if slightly overlong story about unkillable space adventurers. My opinion is below the surface, like a second onion layer, there's a snappier, smarter telling of the same story in the same order with the same humor. It just needs the tiniest bit of pruning.

Don't get me wrong, I love a dick and poop joke as much as the next goofball, and I preserve many (most) silly moments. This isn't a humorectomy, although that would be an interesting project. The edit considers the overall rhythm and makes frequent, small, hopefully not glaring reductions, scene by scene, of a few lines to sometimes just a few frames. I feel like the flow is improved in aggregate, and would like to share.

The Goblet of Fire needs a much more cohesive tone to follow along with the rest, as the tone of the fourth movie is in many ways quite different from the rest of the series - not just in score and pacing, but in visual style and tone.
I also noticed how Goblet of Fire Director, Mike Newell, tried to get back in some of all the warm, golden, cozy colors of Columbus' entries, and when listening in on the Commentary Track I found it odd how these choices came into play. Prisoner of Azkaban had a silver/brown color palette to it that looked very lived-in and real, and then suddenly Mike Newell decided to throw all of that away - despite all the critical acclaim for the visual style of the Prisoner of Azkaban, because he always liked the warm tone of the Columbus' movies, yet he continued with the visual presentation (Hogwarts tracking shots and movie style editing) created by Alfonso in PoA.
The entire movie is tonally and stylistically confusing, and that was the most important thing for me to fix - along with franchise continuity.

Ah, The Force Awakens, one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2015. It was praised for it's fun, fast paced adventure, it's emphasis on practical effects and how it brought back subtlety and nuance to Star Wars. Although, many agree that the film isn't without it's flaws, that have become more obvious with each viewing. When taking on a literal behemoth like this film, with all the good and bad coming in it's massive nostalgia package, doing a fan edit claiming you wanna fix the more underlying flaws that drag the quality down is no easy task. Especially with the kind of flaws that include; an overly long run time that tends to drags at points, a bland color palette that makes the film look ugly and sickly, and characters that make down right stupid and even life threatening decisions to those around them. So, with all of that said, a lot of time and effort had to be put into this, as well as doing research to find others similar opinions (special shout out to the Nostalgia Critic for his take, points and arguments that really helped me out!) to create a worthy Jurassic Park sequel that more people can enjoy.

There and Back again turns the three films into two volumes which focuses on Bilbo's adventure, but in context of Thorin's journey as well. Their stories are intertwined so this edit seeks to strip away as many elements as possible that interfere with their respective stories. This is not a 'book' cut that seeks to conform to the novel, so it maintains many of the added story elements that help it serve as a prequel or bridge to Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, but they are reduced and tightened up so as to not interfere with the primary focus of Bilbo's journey.
