I agree with this is the closest we'll get to an actual Director's Cut. Watched it with my Mom this afternoon for Mother's Day. She loved it, and so did I. Will be rewatching this for sure. Loved it myself.
The only complaint is the editing in one scene where a shot was in the deleted material and the actual movie. Otherwise...
Perfect, have a good timezone, and keep up the amazing work!

This edit is as close as we will probably ever get to seeing what the original cut of the movie was like before it was pared down to it's release time. I believe the added material made the movie stronger over all, giving us more insight into each characters personality and how they were dealing with their own personal drama. It made the ending more believable that they all would remain friends. Blueyoda did a great job inserting these deleted scenes back into the film. I am not an editor so my knowledge is limited, but I wish there was a way to clean up those scenes more. Fixing the color and elemenating the graininess. But sadly, I'm not sure it can be done. We can only imagine what could. Have been... The artwork is superb.
I'm glad Blueyoda was able to give us this gift. Thank you...

After reading previous reviews I went in with a more critical eye than I would when normally watching this movie. It didn't diminish the film for me, and while the cut scenes are indeed rough I think they add a lot to the overall story, especially Carl's monologue. The Breakfast Club is not less complete without them, but they humanize the characters even further, warts and all. John Hughes was great at writing likable characters who were also capable of being nasty, jealous, and spiteful --just like in real life. If that sounds appealing, you're gonna love it.

For me this view was fun, as i knew upfront that Qualitywise some extra Scenes will not be that good.
I wanted to see it anyway and my love for this Movie is unbroken.

I enjoyed watching this Edit but i have to be honest, it did not bring much new for me to the Table.
The Original release has this comedyfeel to it, that got lost a bit in this one.
Sure, if this was the attention all along it is fine and i highly appreciate the work,
but the jumpy back and fourth in some scenes made it harder to watch.

That said, some of the Scenes are brilliant and i would have loved them in the Movie for real.

The Extended is for real Fans of the Movie, i would say, a Must Watch afterall.
Therefore i am glad that Blueyoda took this task up.

The previous reviewers complain about the quality of the footage, so I won't make a big thing about it. The added footage is usually of poor quality. However, after the third or so "new" scene, I realized that I would be watching this as an academic piece rather than as a feature, because it's immediately obvious why most of the scenes were removed. Most of them are examples of the characters being much more caustic and unlikable. Sometimes they add an additional facet, but most of the time there are better examples elsewhere in the film. I agree with other reviewers that while it may make for a more "complete" version of the film, adding back in two or three seconds of grainy footage because a glance or gesture was removed makes the film more jumpy and harder to get into, but I don't mind the entire scenes of added footage. That was the point, after all.

And am I crazy or have I seen some of this footage before on TV?

Anyway, it very enjoyable. It won't replace the theatrical cut for me, but it does broaden my understanding of the process this movie in particular went through, so it's worth watching for sure.
