I have always been baffled by this sequel.
I knew if someone were to look deep enough, buried away and kept hidden from the eyes of the inhabitants of the earth there would be a somewhat decent story involved. Years ago in my first apartment I owned a VHS player with only 2 tapes The Devils Advocate and Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows. Needless to say I spent many wasted hours discerning the dissatisfying "secrets of esrever" and I never would have thought that I could ever watch this film again and enjoy it.
All credit deserving goes to SteFANedit. Who replaces the clunky directionless plot and delivers it into a much more concise and very much needed linear pacing. Over the top ridiculous cuts to indistinguishable scenes of violence and gore have been removed as are other questionable scenes that served no purpose but ensure this film would end up in the "clearance section" of most retail video outlets.
I did appreciate how certain edits to the dialog the were done sparingly. The film is supposed to be a movie outside of a movie so to speak so these characters are never meant to say anything profound to each other but instead simulate how real people supposedly talk, which advances the plot in a jumbled sort of way.
I would have preferred to leave in the KIMMY line from Tristen but that is my only gripe (if you'd even call it that). I don't think Witchcraft works as well as Disposable Teens for the opening credits (it does come in a tad loud) but SteFANedit has molded this film to be what the original director intended it to be. I like the new music cue for the end credits its very fitting and I like Haunted is still being there too. This is my definitive version of this film. I'm going to enjoy sharing this adaptation with others just to get their reaction.
If you've ever stayed up and watched a movie on local television at two in the morning, seen more than a handful of Tales from the Crypt episodes, or have a soft spot for good ideas that spawned outrageously bad movies I would recommend that you and your loved ones cancel plans blow off work and watch the SteFANedit of the Blair Witch2.

Just finished watching this. Very well done overall. There are a couple edits that could have been smoothed out. For instance, at the store in the beginning you kept only two lines of dialogue but it goes by so quickly that you probably could have just cut the entire scene and it would have played the same.

The new structure was excellent. Kudos to you for taking out all the quick cut interrogation scenes spread throughout and the over-the-top gore footage added in.

All in all, a really well done first time edit. I look forward to more steFANedits.

I always kind of preferred BW2 to the first film, despite obvious flaws. Listening to the director’s commentary actually made me like it a little less though, as I lamented the version of the film we didn’t get.

Thankfully, we finally do have it in the form of steFAN’s edit. Maybe not exactly what the director would have released if given the chance, but as close as you can possibly get with the material released.

Job well done on this one. Apart from a…questionable audio transition near the beginning and spelling the director’s name wrong (twice) there was very little to complain about. I didn’t care for two song choices, but that’s just personal taste, and hardly the kind of thing to hold against the edit.

Special mention goes to the finale, which was reworked very nicely.

Book Of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 by SteFANedit

Caught Blair Witch at the peak of its hype and was completely underwhelmed.
Avoided the sequel until I saw the DVD in a cut-out bin, paired with BW1, for $1.00.
Later, I kicked myself for wasting a whole dollar.
The film, which I only viewed once and now sits like an diseased barnacle on a lower shelf somewhere, was a complete p.o.s.
Stupid writing, enhanced by inept direction, and apparently edited by a drunken puppy.
So, why did I even get this edit? Cause SteFAN made it.

SteFAN resurrected this tosser, and actually made it decent. Ain’t top tier horror, but makes for a watchable late night grind flick.
Characters remain unlikable, shouting, argumentative morons, but that’s what he had to work with and I cannot fault him.
On the technical side, I saw nothing wrong with the video and heard nothing out of kilter on the audio.
If you hated the original BW2, this is much more enjoyable.
Thanks, SteFAN. Come Halloween, this will air on the sheet hanging in my living room window for the begging monsters on my porch.

The original version of Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 is a very flawed film and a pretty bad follow up to the original film. What steFANedit tried to do is edit the film as close as possible to what the director originally wanted for his film, and he did a pretty good job at it. Instead of a film that's all over the place with it's story is now in chronological order and is a smoother story overall. Having the interviews with the main characters can feel like a little long in the tooth instead of being spread over the movie, but i feel like it's better overall for it. Removing a chunk of Jeff being in the hospital is a good edit because sometimes more is less.

The Audio and Video is really good. Frank Sinatra's Witchcraft is a little too loud at the start, but not so bad i can't hear what they're saying. Overall, this is a great edit and is an improvement to the source material.
