This is a gret take on Blade Runner; it never would have occured to me that this interpretation could work, but it works and feels sufficiently natural that you could be forgiven for thinking it was intentional.

The black & white visual style works very well - I know a couple of folks had issues with the high contrast, but I thought it worked really well. The editing itself was invisible, with some excellently-executed transitions between scenes.

If I had a complaint, it would be a very minor one that the sound levels seemed to vary a fair amount. The variation isn't so great as to be a problem, I just found myself knocking the volume down once or twice after raising it to ensure that certain bits of dialogue were audible. This may be down to the source material.

All in all, I thought this was excellent both narratively and technically. Great work!

I love this edit for two reasons, one the pace of the movie is drastically improved and I think it may actually be a better narrative than the original (more on that in a minute).

The biggest thing is probably going from color to noir. It worked for me, but in the end I still wish it had at least a tiny bit of color to warm it slightly.

That said, this edit flew by with perfect pacing and a great telling of the story. At one point I wondered to myself, do I miss Deckard's story/point of view? The answer was no, from a movie going experience. It made for a better movie and ultimately makes me wonder if the original narrative just wasn't done as well. It's hard to say for sure, since I can't go back and unwatch it to be completely be subjective.

Anyway, very well done and one of the best fan edits I have seen to date. Thanks for all the hard work and looking forward to seeing your next one!

AWESOME!
This was fantastic and the high contrast black and white looked amazing. I very highly recommend this edit of this movie. I've never been a huge Blade Runner fan, so I have not seen it more than once or twice, so I was really watching this more or less without previous knowledge. I was worried that there would be plot problems in focusing on the replicants, but there are no plot holes that I noticed at all.
This feels like an excellent art house sci-fi movie. And your title is perfect! I didn't even get it until Roy Batty speaks the words near the end. This was one of my favorite fanedits I have watched. It was the right length too. It would have been easy for you to pad this, but I appreciated that you stuck to the story you were telling. Just damned good all around!

So I just finished watching this edit. I knew going in that it was going to be in B&W and more from the replicants point of view but beyond that I didn't know anything about specific changes (I didn't read the cut list).

I love Blade Runner and I won't waste time and space in my review of rangerkris's edit to blab on about my feelings about which version of the movie is my definitive, and who I think Deckard is etc. But the fact that I love this movie made me all the more interested in seeing this fanedit.

This edit takes a pretty interesting narrative approach. I understand the difficulties involves in trying to make a coherent narrative when you're excising so much of the movie. I won't bother nitpicking about personal preferences and what I liked/didn't like but for the most part the narrative worked.

Audio editing was well done, I can be a stickler/whiner/nitpicker/complainer when it comes to audio but I had no problems or complaints with the audio work. Also, props on that smooth bit of audio editing where Roy is talking to Chew and says "where can I find this....father". Very cool.

Visual editing there were a few choices that I would have done differently, nothing super-jarring, and I think what I was noticing was often a result of the restructuring of the story.

A/V Quality: this was a tough one. I really liked the B&W, it worked great for a noir-ish movie like Blade Runner. However the video quality was variable throughout the movie. Certain scenes there was a noticeable drop in quality (i.e. pixellation, as Neglify mentioned in his review). Other scenes ended up looking great. So a bit inconsistent.

Enjoyment: This was a fun, fast-paced edit. Definitely worth a watch if you're tired of watching Blade Runner (whatever your preferred version is) and want to see it in a new way.

Nice work.

This was a pretty damn enjoyable "alternate take" on a masterpiece. The structure works well for the most part, and succeeds in telling the story from the POV of the "villains".

Quality was good, but with the high-contrast B&W there is very noticeable pixelation throughout. It's not terrible and the B&W looks wonderful, so that makes up for it.

I definitely look forward to seeing what else Ranger makes.
