Brief Synopsis:
BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER is a light edit. We see more of King T'Chaka and his brother early on, establishing the old king as a less idealized character. A glimpse of young T’Challa as contrast to Erik’s childhood. The weakest CGI shots are trimmed from the rhinos in battle and the climax in the mine. T'Challa at the United Nations is extended and placed before his trip to Oakland, giving it the weight it deserves.
Intention:
Watching this in the cinema, I got pulled out of the film by the distracting transition from Black Panther the movie to Black Panther the video game with the poor CGI during the rhinos in battle and the final battle in the mine. It bothered me more, knowing that they could have done it better. This is 2018 and Marvel / Disney / Lucasfilm have amazingly talented people.
- Remove bad CGI: several small trims in final cave fight.

I love the deleted scene of young T'Challa telling his dad he'll protect him when he grows up. It fits perfectly after we see (then not yet named) Erik left behind in Oakland. That contrast is made all the more powerful by showing dad killing his brother then instead of later via flashback.

The UN scene at the end closes with a question to T'Challa how Wakanda will make a difference. We, the audience, see his answer in Oakland. By moving the UN scene from mid-credits to before Oakland, it flows more logically and we get the question before the answer.

Cuts and Additions:
1) Trim visually distracting shots because they pull me out of the movie. Several CGI shots look like we switched from the film to a computer game. I find that terribly distracting. Trimming these requires only minimal cuts.
- Cut most of T'Challa's flashback from Cap3 (redundant and distracting visual filter).
- Remove bad CGI: small trim to rhinos in battle.
- Remove bad CGI: several small trims in final cave fight.

2) Raise the emotional stakes at the start.
- Integrate part of flashback of T'Chaka killing his brother into beginning. Cut part of later Zuri exposition to T'Challa accordingly.
- Insert deleted scene before Marvel logo: young T'Challa talks with dad. Having these scenes back to back, as they would have been intended, works really well. We get young Erik left behind alone in Oakland contrasted with young T'Challa raised lovingly in safe and comfortable Wakanda.

3) Bring more gravitas to the ending.
- Insert deleted scene: part of T'Challa - Ross conversation at UN (it includes this edit's tagline).
- Move UN before Oakland scene. No mid-credit scene.

4) Minor pacing tweak:
- Small trim in Ross wake-up dialog with Shuri.

An excellent edit. As the description mentions, it is very light with just a few trims and the addition of a very small number of deleted scenes (maybe only one key one near the start) but they all make a big difference. If you haven’t watched the theatrical version in a while you may not notice the changes but as someone who saw it quite recently this stands out as a slight but important improvement on an already great movie.

Edits are seamless. Outstanding job!

This edit is much better than the theatrical. It's a pretty light edit, and I mainly recall edits around tightening the action scenes, especially the ones with bad CGI. The only drop in quality which others have pointed out was the cave fight scene. Other than that it was great. Highly recommend

So, this is actually the second time watching this fanedit, and I have to say, it is really good. Easily the best MCU movie since Civil War, this edit lovingly cut out what little bad there was (way to much CGI, and most of it bad) and really honed the themes of the movie by adding deleted scenes that never should have been removed and reordering a few things to really hammer it home, making a good movie great.

For the most part the technical side of the edit was flawless, with no obvious cuts in either video or audio... except one. During the final battle when T'challa and Killmonger fall there is a VERY obvious cut. Now its been so long since I saw the original movie that I don't actually remember this sequence, but it felt like a rather arbitrary cut for it to be so rough. Maybe what is missing is better left unremembered. I can't be bothered to grab the blu-ray out of storage.

Regardless, a fantastic edit, and definitely recommended.

Amazing edit, without a doubt better than the original but I think the audio quality could definitely be better also no subtitles for the non-English parts also he didn't take out the whip my hair reference or what are those joke but other than those nitpicks this edit makes the original completely obsolete

Just to be clear, I rate fanedits on a scale based on the source material. I do not believe Black Panther is a 10/10 film, I'm actually not that big a fan of it, nor do I think this edit is a full 10/10 in general either. However, I do think this edit is better than the original film, and it better accomplishes everything that Black Panther tried to. Additionally, I didn't notice any A/V issues, and liked the small narrative changes this edit made. Thus, my enjoyment is a 10/10, as I enjoyed it as much (if not more) than the original.
