Say one thing for Don Kamillo, say he's a master.

Se7en is one of my all-time top 5 favorite movies, and so I was rather pleased to learn that The Batman was a love letter to it. As such, The Batman is hands down my favorite Batman film, and now also one of my all-time favorites, despite having a few gripes here and there.

I watched this edit over the course of 3 days, as was (almost) intended, and Don Kamillo has either removed my gripes entirely, or tweaked them in such a way that I don't mind them so much.

In short, I personally thought that the Joker scene should have been a mid-credits scene, and I feel the deleted scene was better left out, but DK used the deleted scene extremely well, and I don't mind the other one, so it's a minor complaint.

That's it. That's the only thing I have to complain about here. Everything written in the "Changes" tab was directly responsible for my increased enjoyment of this edit over the original film. ESPECIALLY ending with the Alfrid hospital scene over the Catwoman Motorcycle scene. Seriously, I have only good things to say here.

Did you like The Batman? Check this out.

I cannot recommend this edit enough.

Infinite props to you here DonKamillo, I'll be watching this edit for years to come.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I had a few other minor gripes when I first saw this edit, and DK fixed/tuned them up within a week. Guy's a trooper.

Such a great edit. Cutting this movie into a four part mini-series works really well and does a great deal to combat the pacing issues that I and from what I've seen, a few others had with the theatrical release. The video editing of this is really impressive too, it stays on par with the level of detail that Matt Reeves had put into The Batman whilst also providing a more cohesive and focused storyline. I was confused about the re-ordering of some scene's but in the end it works well and even compliments other scenes better than the theatrical did.
If I watch this movie again in the future it will be this edit.

Great work! I really enjoyed The Batman, and this version even more. I feel like this movie was just asking to be cut into a mini-series, I actually did it myself, but mine was simply cut into 4 parts with no other editing and just reusing the same "THE BATMAN" intro logo each time. Needless to say, my version got trashed as soon as this version came out. The cuts and reordering of scenes were perfect. The new intros were perfect. Quality is great, this looks like it was released by the studio.

I am personally a big fan of extended versions of films, but I also felt like the Batman could have been shortened to improve some pacing issues. This edit satisfies both check boxes for me and turns the Batman into a premium HBO series that would fit nicely into future Gotham tv series like the Penguin. I didn't have much time to sit and rewatch all of Batman in one sitting so it worked out when I watched the first two episodes in one night and the other two in two consecutive weeks. It felt like it was supposed to be released that way. And when the intros are cut in, they are cut in so organically it feels like it belongs there. The inclusion of the joker scene as a cold open work wonderfully. I will be only watching this edit for rewatches and recommend others to do so.

Before I begin it should be said that I haven't seen the original film in it's entirety.

Since Covid struck, my friend became something of a recluse, so I too stopped going to the cinema. When The Batman came out I heard mostly positive things, one being that Batman was actually a detective in this film, that was enough of a selling point for me it was the one thing I'd wanted in a batman movie. When the film hit home release I rushed to buy a copy and I sat down to watch it aaaaaand that's where it fell apart, for some reason I couldn't sit for that length of time and take in the story. I made it 2 hours in and took a break (that I never resumed on)

In Don's edit I saw the opportunity to give the film a second chance and I must say I'm glad I did. 4 easy to watch episodes that have the classic tv episode structure, if I hadn't watched some of the film to know better, I would have swore it was made with a miniseries in mind. Each 'episode' has a classic TV format structure. All the exposition and following the breadcrumb trail, the big spectacle event per episode, and even the cliffhangers, that ironically, had me wanting to watch the next episode. But I continued to limit myself to one chapter per night. There were a few times I noticed that some scenes felt like they were out of sequence, but I understood this to be a creative decision and it didn't really mar my enjoyment or affect my ability to follow the story.

If you're an idiot like me, who purchases films blindly when you maybe should have rented them. Then give this edit a watch. If you thought the pacing of the original film was unbalanced, then please consider watching this.

Thank you
