When watching the original. I could definitely tell there was a good movie in there. But the story felt bloated and overly long. A lot of unnecessary landscape shots that felt like it was going for an art piece, rather than a batman movie.

Around 2 hrs would be my aim for the movies runtime, so I was excited for this cut of the film.

I thoroughly enjoyed Krausfadr's The Batman, much more than the actual movie.

But. . . . . So when he fixed the commissioner's voice. The audio drops overall so it's noticable. He chose to keep the kiss between him and Catwoman, but after he stops her from killing her father, he doesn't see her again, so that feels a little unfinished. I would have cut the kiss entirely.

Now he has stated the reasoning to moving the car chase to the end and ultimately make the narrative change, I don't know if I really see it fitting.without him explicitly stating the reasoning, I doubt I'd have ever seen the connection. It ends up feeling a little random.

But as I said. It's very enjoyable

I concurr with other reviewers. Nobody thought to point out that the best scene where Batman escapes the cop shop is a clear missed opportunity for some impostiary CG police falling off the roof in hot pursuit, though. I suggest this will be the drop of funny this tonic requires.

I love the original until we got what felt like an extra ending. An it sure did stick out and feel tonaly completely inconsitent with what preceded it.

K has resolved that issue BUT has gone far further.

The tightening up of needless exposition, the addition of some subtle but plot driven VFX and many other creativ changes mean that this is defo my go to verison.

K is a real technician (lord knows his reviews show that), but I won't dwell on those items since they are near perfect bar the audio sync issues noted below.

I look forward to updating the version I have with the corrections noted previously and can only say BRAVO!

OUTSTANDING work !

I didn't like the original release; it was long, slow and my wife solved the riddles faster than Batman. This version was still slow but at least it wasn't long; to no fault of the editor. This movie wants to be true crime but wont commit to it, so it has wonky pacing. Overall, I'd say this is a fantastic edit of a bloated film, keeping what people liked and cutting a lot of what was problematic.
-CONS-
- Opening text
- Silence/Cut when talking to alfred in the hospital is jarring
- Gang fight placement (it feels like the movie restarted)
- GCPD escape cut to him and Gordon at the orphanage is jarring
- Batman letting Penguin get in his car and cause several casualties on the freeway (not your fault but I will continue to hate this)

Hey there thanks for the review! I hear the issue in the hospital conversation you mentioned with the sound fading a bit too low. I will fix that issue for sure. I appreciate your attention to detail. As far as the transition to the orphanage, I double checked and since there is no technical problem and I myself am happy with that cut I'll leave that one as is. If I'm mistaken and you caught a technical error there let me know. Thanks again for watching.

Just finished this watch and gotta say, this edit saved the movie for me.

I walked out of The Batman at theaters with loads of criticisms. Namely, I felt the flood ending and Batman facing Riddler's social media followers were incredibly lame. I much prefered Penguin's arc and this edit places the car chase at the end, displaying that Batman is just freakin' done with everyone's crime bullshit. At the start he's content investigating and keeping things close to the chest, but at the end we see him take it further into the streets. In my opinion, this ending also fits well with Riddler being mistaken about many things: not only missing the fact Batman is Bruce Wayne but also believing Batman is on his side of vengeance. It sets him up well to trust Joker at the end.

This edit also does many creative things: changing signage to reflect the growing crime, adding "from Annie" on a batman note to address the orphan plot point, etc. These are done SO well. I'm not sure if Krausfadr will do more work on the edit. There is an audio sync issue at the funeral scene when Gordon is speaking to the cops and one of them notices Bruce. I also would hope the creator would consider inserting the Joker deleted scene, right after Batman gets the note about the rat. That scene really sets up Batman's crisis, realizing that everyone he is protecting has actually gone corrupt and they likely deserve their fates. It means more too, when Batman mentions to Gordon he's a "good cop".

Lastly, at the end when Gordon and Batman are busting Penguin. His goons open fire at nothing (since Catwoman is edited out). Would recommend reinserting Catwoman and Batman opening the back. Selene can take money as usual but they get fired upon before they can fully open the other bag with the body (I have seen another edit do this). In this way, Penguin has reason to come out shooting, Catwoman finally gets the money she previously felt she was "owed" (giving her a good ending), and Batman cleanly retreats to his car with Penguin searching.

Overall a fantastic edit, and exactly what I was hoping for going into the film! Great work.

Thanks for the review! And thank you for mentioning the audio sync issue you noticed. I just fixed it in the project timeline and will make a new file so you have a perfect version.
