One of the more ambitious projects I've encountered during my search for the perfect fanedit. I really love the concept of presenting the familiar 3 movie structure as a 10 part miniseries and for the most part it works really well. The actual scenes play out in gloriously complicated realtime, with BTTF Marty and BTTF 2 Marty both endeavoring to change the past to avoid future tragedies and the editing for this is absolutely perfect.

I especially enjoyed the little touches such as adding a new opening title sequence and a cheesy end credits to every 'episode'. It really made it feel like watching a series from the 90's and was surprisingly feelgood.

Because of the extended format, some of the emotional beats of the first two movies fall a little flatter than they were intended, but this is more than offset by others hitting home even harder. Presenting the narrative in the unique format really emphasises the friendship between Doc Brown and Marty in a way that I have never felt by watching the movies alone. Their friendship really feels like a journey and their deep affection of one another just shines through so that by the end I had a real lump in my throat as their fantastic journeys came to an end.

The only (minor) criticism is that to set up the concurrent 1955 storylines, BTTF Marty escapes from the terrorists in the Delorean, only to wake up in bed. It doesn't really make any narrative sense but I expect it was a necessary compromise in order to have the first two films visits to 1955 run concurrently. Everything else is absolutely magnificent.

This was such a fun and novel way to watch the familiar stories in a new light. I'd highly recommend it to anyone!

I was floored this was turned into a 10 episode series that made it spanned into adventures. The choices of jumping around a bit and with the help of some cool editing choices really made this one hell of an edit. A prized piece to behold!

Every few years I get an urge to re-watch the BTTF trilogy. I came across this edit and thought it would be a fun\different way of the viewing the trilogy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I watched the 1955 episodes in black and white which was great and would recommend it as it matches the era. I know the idea is to watch an Episode a week on a Saturday at 7.30pm like the golden days of TV aka 80's but I couldn't help myself and binge watched all episodes (thanks a lot Netflix!). I would highly recommend this way of watching BTTF at least once as it was fun way of watching the trilogy.

This was one of the first edits I watched, I saw it in August but just haven't gotten around to leaving a review until now.

A very fun edit to watch, love how the timeline was changed (or at least the order it was displayed). Quality was top notch, making it 16:9 instead of widescreen was a nice touch. Really makes the difference between a film v. TV vibe.

I think I noticed a few cuts just because I'm so familiar with the source material, but they weren't poorly done or anything so all the editing still gets a 10/10.

Highly recommend this edit!

"Great Scott! I remember this! This is how people used to watch TV. There would be a cliffhanger and you'd wait a week to find out what happened. And they had these teaser trailers right before and after the commercials, to entice you to stay tuned in the hope of glimpsing something new." "You mean there was no binge-watching? And you couldn't skip over the commercials? Heavy!" The Hill Valley Chronicles succeeds in transporting you through time, to your own youth when weekly episodes of star shows influenced the schedules of our daily lives. No re-runs, no pause button. We need to be home in time to find out what happens next to Marty and Doc! The concept of this edit is perfect: feel transported 30 years into your past while watching our heroes travel the same amount of time. For everyone old enough to have seen Back to the Future the first time around, this edit is a delightful double treat of time travel. The hardest part is to muster the patience to watch the series as you would have in the '80s: one episode a week and no fast-forward (I failed, I watched the series over two weeks). There are individual moments where this format feels repetitive, including the elaborate Previously and Next teasers. But that is partially my fault for not waiting a week before watching the next episode! Partially also because there are no commercial blocks between the teasers and the episodes. Visual and audio editing is excellent. Narrative editing stands out on an inspirational level. This has me re-examining my favorite movies with the thought "what can I do with this narrative?". Heartily recommended!
