To begin with, I must clarify that I’m not at all a fan of MCU’s sense of humor. It was well-balanced and well-placed till the end of Phase One, but by now it has become repetitive, predictable and too juvenile for my taste. So, even though I’ve already seen the amazing AoU: Extinction Edition by Bobson Dugnutt, with all those creepy deleted scenes (the Norns’ cave, Hulk towering over that little girl and most probably killing her off-screen), any fan-edit that reduces the pesky jokes is always welcome by me. And Kikanator96’s effort is a great one! Starting from Ultron, the editor’s cuts deliver now a much more menacing antagonist who no more cracks a joke every now and then. Take, for instance, the scene where Ultron cuts off Klaue’s arm. Without the quirky, stark-ish attitude, Ultron now really looks like a heartless, sadistic machine, a terminator with contempt for humanity. Moreover, Kikanator96 also removes some non-Ultron scenes that no one will miss (I certainly didn’t!), like those “It was a good talk- No it wasn't" lines when Iron Man breaks into Strucker’s fortress. God, I hate that scene! All cuts are clean and seamless, but I think that the editor should have left the cuttlefish scene intact. It’s a piece of fully whedonized dialogue and it’s cringy, but without any explanation as to why Klaue’s afraid of cuttlefish, something seems really off. Not to mention that even though Pietro taking the candy was removed, we can see him chewing it in his mouth. Other than that, the De-Whedoned Cut is a great fan-edit that vastly improves the original, mainly if you’re not a fan of MCU’s comedic formula. Certainly recommended.

Vast improvement over the original! Humour is now well balanced and still feels like a Marvel movie. The addition of the two deleted scenes definetely add to the story. Audio and vidio edition is seamless. My new to-go version for this movie!

I remember being so excited for the second Avengers, only to leave the theater in disgust. I hadn't watched the movie since seeing it back in 2015, but when I heard that there was an edit that toned town everything I loathed, I decided to give it a chance. While still a flawed film, this edit is a huge improvement over the original. This is the only version people should watch. Great work!

So this review is long over due. My sincerest apologies to the creator as to life things just got in the way, and I intend on fixing that. Without further ado here is my review:

In an age where Joss Whedon's legacy is swept under the rug, so to speak. It pains me to see his fall from grace because, my parents had shown me Firefly and became a fan of his ever since. Buffy took a long time for me to appreciate, but now it is one of my favorite guilty pleasure shows of all time. Fast forward to 2011-ish, where I read the news that he is to direct The Avengers. I couldn't have been more excited. I don't think I need to describe how much of a phenomenon that movie was to me and the general public.

So Age of Ultron comes out when I was 15 and loved it as a kid. Years later, I am pointed out some corny humor (even by Whedon standards) and even some "problematic" jokes. Some were right to be pointed out and some weren't. When Joss Whedon is at his best, he knows how to perfectly weave drama and humor. I would be lying, however, if I said that the humor overstayed it's welcome in this entry. I would still argue for what it does right it does very very well. It is definitely an underrated entry in The Infinity Saga line of movies (from Iron Man to Far From Home). All I can really say beyond this is, "Thank you" to the creator. The edit is now my go to when revisiting The Infinity Saga line of movies. All of the bad quips and moments are gone, the dramatic beats are stronger and the movie is now made better. Thank you Kikanator96. If I was an agent, I would hire you to edit modern Marvel movies. Lord knows that they need it.
