So, first things first, I watched this just a week or so after SamSpider's version. I am in no way trashing SamSpider's version, as I rated it very highly. It was excellent. This version is, however, better. And not really technically, as they are both executed on a level that was nearly seamless, and its not due to a better artistic vision, as I feel like both edits were essentially working from the same idea. No, the only REAL difference is that this one is MORE of that. My understanding is that Bobson Dognutt had a few more scenes to work with, and you can tell. I don't remember the exact number, but I think its only like 2 minutes or so, but every second taken from this film was part of the problem with the theatrical cut. Everything bad about it is remedied with these extra scenes, and the fact that this cut has a few more is the only thing that makes it better. Both are absolutely amazing, this is just slightly more amazing.

I actually really enjoyed the theatrical cut of this... but after having watched through Wandavision, this was necessary to revisit. Before I busted out my Theatrical cut... I felt like I would rather dip my toes into the Fanedit that boasts the best extended version utilizing (what I now see as incredibly vital) deleted scenes and some VFX punch ups.. After having seen this it made me realize that if these scenes were missing on future watch throughs, they would be missed. As everyone has stated... this is my definitive version now!

I never noticed any jarring visual or sound edits, the narrative is improved, and this is just better. Sometimes I watch a fan edit and it makes me kinda mad, because this is what we should have had all along. Kudos!

A fantastic extended edition by Bobson Dugnutt which almost tackles my main complaint about the theatrical cut; I’ve always felt that adding the Twins, especially Quicksilver, was more of a contest between Marvel Studios and Fox (developing Days of Future Past back then) to present their own version of Magneto’s offspring than a crucial storytelling addition. A couple of extra scenes gives them some required depth and eventually make Pietro’s death much more relatable. Another thing that I particularly appreciated was the Hulk in the jungle as well as the Norns cave scenes. They bring a level of darker tone and creepiness that I miss from the MCU. The VFX by the editor on the extended “Watch your Six” scene, removing the green screen, were seamless and so is his editing as a whole. The only real problem I could spot was some small sound desynchronization in the aforementioned scene, but since it is the 1.7 version I watched, I suppose there’s a fix for that in some updated version. In conclusion, Bobson Dugnutt’s Age of Ultron: Extinction Edition is definitely my canon edition from here on!

Again Bobson does a great job of improving the theatrical release by masterfully integrating the deleted scenes. Joss Whedon once again cuts out most of the character focused and horror type elements of the the theatrical cut and reinserting them back adds so much more to the story and the characters. The narrative is now more better, the editing is brilliant, the audio work is solid and never felt jarring. Another go to version from Bobson that is truly superior over the theatrical.

It was great! I loved the deleted scenes that were added back in; the green screen work was quite masterful, definitely worth watching and drastically increased my respect for the film as a whole.
