A great package, first and foremost, giving viewers a choice of which bonkers extended version of AoD they'd like to view. The only reason to watch the blu-ray or other editions is for improved technical quality, but if you want the best AoD experience, this is the one to get ahold of.

Listen Up, You Primitive Screwheads!!! :) This the best fanedit/extend/alternative version of Army of Darkness you will find.

The Evil Dead trilogy is one of the best horror trilogy ever made. Actually Army of Darkness is a comedy gem filled with really great punch lines, awesome special effects for the time. Though it isn't as good and funny as the Evil Dead 2, it's still a great and overlooked fantasy movie.

Coming back to this fan edit. Ridgeshark is the MacGyver of fan editors. He is able to find the most obscure extend and alternative footage available and put it nicely and restored to the original film. I highly recommend you check his Jaws 2 edition (https://ifdb.fanedit.org/jaws-2-extended-integral-edition/) for more proof of his talents.

My favorite version of the 4 would be the "Overdose" version, It has an alternate opening and ending. I own the special edition ending, but this was the first time I saw the alternative opening, which I personally prefer than the original one. It has the Evil Dead 2 look and feel which I prefer personally.

I also really liked the other added scenes such as Ash fighting Arthur and Ash recruiting Henry the Red, the extended windmill scene is also pretty amazing to watch. The added deleted workprint quality scenes have been cleaned and are nicely edit together with the original release.

I highly recommend this edit for all Evil Dead fans.

I highly recommend you use a Dvd burner to enjoy this edition or you simply convert the.VOB files into.MP4 or.ISO. You can use one of the applications here: https://www.dvdfab.cn/resource/video/free-vob-converter

Fabulous movie. I specifically wtahced the "Primitive Screwhead Edition" and I had a blast watching it. Sorry for not elaborating more on the tecnical aspects of the film but I will say this; as I watched the film the transitions were seemless and you would have never known that an individual after the fact had edited the movie. Great editing.

When I first saw this in the theater, I hadn’t seen the series and didn’t get it. I later went back and watched The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II and became a fan. The slapsticky moments that turned me off are still in this cut of the Primitive Screwhead Edition (it really goes over the top at the windmill) but I can now enjoy it for being the delicious cheese that it is. Not really scary, but Raimi is a master of creating tension, and some of the deleted scenes here add to that. A lot of the special effects are really obvious by today’s standards and don’t hold up, but Bruce Campbell remains glorious.

There are 3 cuts assembled for this one fan-edit! I watched the "Overdose" edition that has the alternate ending, which is pretty sweet. The army of the dead and Evil Ash weren't as threatening as I remembered, and the ending of this really becomes quite cheesy (it's pretty much downhill from the Necronomicon sequence) but it's a fun popcorn watch nonetheless. Ridgeshark's editing does improve the film I believe, helping to flesh it out a bit more, although I wish something could be done about the very obvious difference in visual quality from some of the sources. This assemblage generally cuts out things that you won't miss and includes nice bits to fill out the story, so I can heartily recommend it. I'll edit this review as I watch the 2 other cuts available on the "disc", but I believe they are only small differences.

I just want to start by saying I had never watched any of the Evid Dead franchise. My review is to be taken as writen by someone with no previous knowledge from any of the previous movies in the series.

With that out of the way I just wanted to say even if you have never seen any of the movies prior in the series that this movie is excelent. The editing is flawless and the way the story was put together I can't find fault in. The only flaw, if you can call it that, is the quality of the source material in some parts but you can hardly blame the editor for that.

You have any interest in the horror and/or comedy genres yopu owe it to yourself to get a copy of this very unique movie.

PS. Remember, shop smart, shop S-mart.
