Aquaman: Special Edition

Absolutely brilliant! Well done WUK!

A lot of the more irritating bits are gone now, and I like the rescoring of the Black Manta prep-scene, etc.

Think this will be my go-to version of Aquaman from now on. I've always wanted to cut my own one as my first fanedit ever, but this one accomplished almost everything I'd have done.

(For info - no comment on the fanedit itself at all - the possible bits I'd change from this, which are more personal than anything else: Remove the "pee on it" line. Remove the plinky plonky music bit in the desert designed to show how 'fun' the banter is. Remove the single half-line about the world needing Arthur to be "more than a king // a hero" (I think it would work as "Atlantis has always had a king - now it needs something more [cut to] a king fights for his nation - you fight for everyone"). Remove the profoundly un-physics-y bit of Arthur dragging those inflatable liferafts at high speed after the submarine rescue.)

Either way, in short - fantastic edit, far better than the theatrical, and fulfils the brief of "to keep Arthur dumb and funny" but remove plot-holes, etc.

Oh, and the small changes to the intro and ending are brilliant. The dock ending is perfect.

This edit turns this movie from what was just a fun romp into a more faster-paced action-adventure film. The problems with the TC of Aquaman are removed and any moments of those cuts are not noticeable. Even though a lot of the 'fun' is cut out, Arthur still feels like the fun character he is mostly portrayed as in the original movie and other appearances. This version serves as a great shelf replacer and I would give it a watch if you are on the fence about it.

After experiencing his outstanding WW84 and Suicide Squad edits, I was eager to see what Wakeupkeo could do with a DC film I actually enjoyed in the first place -- not surprisingly, the answer is "improve it considerably." All of the plot and tone quibbles I had with the original cut are smoothed over, and what's left is a flawless, beautiful psychedelic neon adventure movie with heart and humour, and nary a cringe moment to be found. A "B+" movie taken to an "A," well done.

This edit of the film was really enjoyable for me! It was the first time I was able to watch this movie from the beginning till the end and I liked it (the original version was a bit too long winded for me). It is fast paced, the story unfolds really well, the characters build in a good flow and it comes across pretty natural and some "funny" scenes really made me laugh again.

It seems like a fresh and new movie alltogehter. The editing and cutting was done fabulously. This is the second fanedit I watched from Wakeupkeo and again, I loved it. This editor really seems to get he most out of these movies by showing the essence of the story and makes his audience love them (again).

There were no flaws recognized by me after the first watch. Fantastic job again, highly recommended!
