A very enjoyable extended edit. Visual editing was seamless, as was audio, bar a couple of occasions where I noticed a slight shift in volume.

Video quality was a bit poor and certainly not on par with the dvd, but still perfectly watchable.

Overall, I prefer the theatrical, but this was a fun watch. All the extra scenes were well integrated and there were only a few jokes that fell flat. The pacing was hindered slightly, but that's a minor issue.

Well done, Uncanny Antman!

This is one of those extended editions that makes you ask "Why did they cut THAT out?" And it kinda makes you hate Hollywood, because the only reason to cut out those scenes was to make the movie shorter so they could sell it to theatres easier.
The editing is great, and the disk quality looks identical to the original DVD. Well done!

with Anchorman 2 less than a week away a wanted to re-watch the first film and so decided to check out the whammy edit. the edit plays like an extended version of the film with the footage included staying away from the dropped terrorist group sub-plot that appears in the wake-up ron burgundy film. as a hole this is a really good alternative to the original with the extra footage is seamlessly added. however the 2 hour run time made the film a little bloated, personally an alternative 90min cut with the new footage added i felt would have been more enjoyable.

This edit was a treat for fans of the original - and I sincerely hope that is everyone. It's such a unique thing that SO much deleted material was available for an extended/alternative edition. I have to disagree with Ripplin that the scene in the car is too long... That is the best thing about this edit imho. Champ's confession is hideously painful and completely hysterical. How on earth those actors kept a straight face, especially when Champ is kissing Ron on the cheek. Comedy Gold.

It's not as tight as the original, but was a very enjoyable alternative trip through pleasure town.
