Samspider did a terrific job integrating the deleted scenes into the original film, creating a more complete and interesting experience for the viewer. I've had zero interest in seeing this film again until I learned of this edit and the time was definitely justified.
I hope the editor has more projects awaiting for us since his skills are remarkable and a LOT films need his touch.

I had the chance to go see Amazing Spider-Man when it first came out. I loved it. I gave us a different Spidey compared to the Raimi films. It was closer to the comics, imo. It even took some pages from the Ultimate Spider-Man comic series. It is my favorite Spidey film so far.

Then I had the opportunity to watch this edit, which have to say is really well done. It provides an alternate take on it. Some of the small nitpicks I had with the original, they've been removed. The one that makes Spidey more of a hero is that in this edit, the quest for Uncle Ben's killer has been removed. It doesn't take away from the film because it had been dropped in the original.

The deleted scenes that have been inserted into the film. It helps provide more depth to these characters. That's something that while there was a bit of in the original. There were some instances where certain characters got less depth than others (Dr. Connor's looking at you). A few add a lil bit more fun to it (Peter going to Gwen's for dinner), there was one scene that was a bit of a stand out that was nice. That being the scene between Dr. Connors and his son, Billy. It was a nice touching moment that added a bit to the character.

Also love the contrast that was added to the film. It brightens the film up and makes it less of the dark vein (Dark Knight tone that the original had) and more of the superheroics that we wished to see.

This is an edit that I'd recommend. It does a great job of providing an alternate take on The Amazing Spider-Man (I'd refer to it as Amazing Spider-Man 1.1).

Audio/Video Quality:
Completely fine, nothing wrong that I noticed

Visual/Audio Editing:
Also good, does the job, nothing wrong except for some sudden musical changes

Narrative:
The movie is cut down to the basic spiderman story layout, this movie is just his origins, Gwen Stacy, and his first enemy, the movie is pretty much just a faithful-as-possible-to-the-comics edition. The edit was fun, fast, and interesting. The deleted scenes added nothing to the movie in order to make it better story wise but they were fun. Spiderman is not supposed to be the most serious story-focused franchise (after all, it's called "spiderman" what the hell do you expect?) and this edit removed the parts that tried to be more serious when it came to character development but didn't really help the story at all (looking at Harry hunting down ben's killer).

Enjoyment:
A fun, focused version of 'The Amazing Spiderman' does what it should, I wish samspider3 did more work in order to make the villain more interesting but he still unfortunately falls extremely flat and you don't really care for him (not to mention that the CGI for his lizard form isn't done very well). Don't expect many changes to the movie, if you already like the movie, you should enjoy this even more, if you are not a big fan of the original film, you won't care that much.

Audio/Video Quality: As far as I could see there weren't any issues

Audio/Visual Editing: Transitions were all seamless, if there were any problems I didn't notice them

I first watched The Amazing Spiderman when I bought the Blu-ray (at my friends insistence, him being a huge spider-junkie) about a year and a half ago. I thought it was fine, a perfectly passable action adventure movie with great chemistry between the lead character and his love interest. In my mind it didn't have any particular flaw, it just wasn't a fantastic movie.

And, for the most part, my opinion of this edit is the same. I like the color correction quite a bit, and I like the reincorporated deleted scenes. I can certainly say that this edit is superior to the original film, although by how much is up for debate. The real change that I noticed was that Dr. Connors is a lot more fleshed out of a character than before, he feels a little more real, a little more human. The other thing that I noticed was that Norman Osborn's motivations were made a little more clear this time around. These are good things, and I didn't miss any of the deleted scenes.

Overall, I recommend this over the original movie. In the words of steelio2006, it really is The Amazing Spiderman 1.1

I bought the Blu-Ray of The Amazing Spiderman a few days before viewing this edit. I decide to perform a little experiment and watch this edit BEFORE watching my official Blu-Ray.

Wow... The deleted scenes reintegrated into the film by samspider3 should have been there in the theatrical cut.

But the main change I noticed was the colour correction applied by the editor. Watching the official release after viewing this edit I was shocked at how dark the picture was! samspider3 did a terrific job making The Amazing Spider-man LOOK like a Spider-man movie! (Something I think they fixed with TASP2).

This version will be replacing my Blu-Ray copy. I would recommend it to any super hero movie fan.

Thanks samspider3!!!
