One would have hoped that such a project was unnecessary but it's nonetheless a superb piece of work: conforming of the source material to the shorter version is seamless with no distractions that would drag somebody out of the narrative, it's a long film but doesn't feel it at all.

Amadeus is one of my all-time favorite films, and to me, is director Milos Forman's masterpiece. Everything from the fantastic performances (especially from Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham) to Forman and writer Peter Shaffer's masterful mix of comedy and drama to Miroslav Ondříček's lush widescreen cinematography, everything works perfectly. TM2YC has done an absolutely phenomenal job reconstructing the superior theatrical version of the film, which is by far the definitive cut. Their audio and visual editing and quality are nothing short of flawless. Amadeus as a film is much like one of Mozart's operas: it's perfect the way it is, and you lose that sense of perfection when you try taking away from it or adding more to it. Historical accuracy be damned, this is a truly great film, and TM2YC's work here is equally great.

This is one of those edits that make you go "Well of course someone should make this edit." Many fans, myself included, enjoy the Theatrical Cut more than the Extended Cut. Here it is, available in maximum visual glory!

The visual editing is seamless, TM2YC is true to form. The audio editing is a wonderfully clever solution: take the audio track from the Theatrical Cut and you're done. I love it. And it doesn't get closer to the original than this, because the audio IS the original. Kudos!

BRAVO MOZART!

I watched this a while back and had another spin this weekend.

I was mesmerized by this in cinemas, and as much as I like the Director's Cut, which are usually an improvement, in this case (with one or two exceptions), the experience is actually diluted IMHO. So BRAVO for going to the effort of assembling this.

This is a seamless piece of work, and unless you know what you are looking for, unnoticeable. No deductions for the opening caption (which is near perfect) since there is little one can do to eliminate registration flicker of the source material (I know, I recently had the same issue on one of my edits).

There is mastery to the flow and pacing of the theatrical cut which (apart from the DVD release) would have been lost were it not for this edit. Superb audio, and great fram for frame matching all round.

I do like the Directors Cut, but if you are going to get a family member through this, you have to Theatrical.

Thank you for this gift.

It's hard to imagine anyone doing a better job than this. TM2YC has as advertised, created the HD reconstruction of the Theatrical Cut we've all been needing. Quality is top notch for both audio and video. I'm so glad this version of Amadeus has been preserved for viewers like me who feel the Theatrical Cut is the superior version.

BRAVO
