Aliens: No Hope Edition

A perfectly done edit of one of my top 5 favourite movies, taking out the colony subplot it preserves the mystery and suspense about what actually happened to the colonists which was a very simple but effective idea. The picture and sound quality are perfect and the movie pacing is well kept and I didn't notice any cuts. This is the version of Aliens that should have been released and definitely my go to version of this movie from now on.

Yep, scrubbing those scenes does no harm at all to the film. If anything, it enhances the impact of the arrival where (in this cut) the audience first encounters the planet and its extremes of weather and menace. The crossfade works flawlessly. Definitely my preferred cut of the film, and I'm grateful for the excuse to go back to this masterpiece.

This is a pretty light edit, but has a large impact. The simple cuts brings the suspense up closer to Alien. No unneeded spoilers here. This is now my go-to version to watch.

Aliens done right. The simple and seamless omission of the whole Hadley's Hope preview brought a big impact to the overall quality of the cut. Without it, the suspense and narrative built-up quite nicely and had served to match the standards of what an Aliens film should be.

From now on, I will definitely choose this version every time I watch the movie.

The inclusion of the deleted scene as an extra was also nice.
